Mid race saves

I think it's great that we are getting all this endurance content but is there any possibility to get mid race saves? Or is there some engine limitations? The game is at such a great place now with physics, ai and content. I think if we could get this feature then it would be the perfect sim. I still race on acc for this reason. I feel like some of the endurance content is wasted by not being able to have endurance races and it's hard to always get 3-6 hours free

 

I haven't heard at all if there are plans to do so but I think it's a great idea, I would love to do some longer races that I can save and come back to.
