Mid-weekend save in championship?

I'm playing through a custom championship and wondering if there's a way save between sessions? I understand that saving during a session is not possible, but wondering if it's possible to save for example after qualifying but before the race? So that I could come back to an event later to do the race without losing my qualifying progress.

 

Just exit the session, and when you come back that session will restart.
So if you want to take a break after quali for instance, just choose `continue` after qualification is done, and exit instead of starting the race.
When you go back to the championship it will start with the race.
