Mini Cooper JCW - What a car!!!!

I drove this the other day to see what the front wheel drive options are like among some simulators. I have driven RF2, RaceRoom and AMS2 - and man, was I impressed with the mini. What a hidden gem!

 

Yeah, it's one of my favorite cars in the game. Not because it's powerful, fast or challenging to drive... it's just a great little car for a quick race.

 

MINI Cooper JCW + Cadwell Park circuit = Another addictive car/track combo in AMS2.

 

As long as a track doesn't have too long straights but is rather twisty, the Mini JCW is also quite competitive with the Sprint Race, which means that we can have multi-class races that emulate the FWD vs. RWD touring car grids

 

Such as feeling like the old ST class from what is now the Michelin Pilot Challenge when they're the slower class alongside GT4

 

It’s a really fun car to drive. Reminds me of the raceroom TCR cars (which are also awesome fun). I wish there were more modern FWD classes in AMS2. I would pay premium for a DLC of world touring car content. Not asking for much. Just 3 modern day front wheel drive TCR cars in one class.

Why is it that this car does not have headlights ?
You'd think such race car based on its popular road variant would have headlights, no ?
It makes racing at night with it impractical, which is a shame given how great a car it is!

 

What I dislike most about it is the absence of Headlighs, making it unsuitable for my sim racing hobbyhorse, the emulation of 24h endurance races (timelapsed)

The dash light for the headlights works...

Great car to drive and would be a blast around the Nordschleife at midnight...

They run short sprint races alongside the BTCC in real life and don't actually have headlights... So for immersion reasons I guess it's going to remain this way...

 

yeah I found this out the hard way… lol.
Started a custom championship with night races and 5x time cycles. Big mistake. Needless to say I had to abandon the championship. Could not see a thing!

but great car to drive.
