I've been experiencing the mouse cursor not being recognized in game quite a few times, I play on PC on a single 3440×1440 screen. The present occurrence started after updating to 1.6.9, but this has happened previously also not immediately after an update, and on Windows 10 and 11. Sometimes the cursor is misplaced, sometimes not recognized at all. I can partially navigate with the keyboard but this is extremely inconvenient and there are some functions that I just can not select. I also don't use mods. What I tried this time so far without success: - changing to borderless and windowed mode - changing game resolution from monitor native to lower, then back - alt+tab out of the game, and back in - verifying game files on Steam - deleting the game input config files from Windows Documents folder - pressing enter when in game menu, then trying to use the mouse - a different mouse and a trackpad - multiple PC and game restarts - different Displayport cable - connecting the monitor via HDMI - uninstalled the game, deleted all it's files from Steam library and Documents folder, reinstalled game - checked Windows display scaling (it's at 100%) - reset all settings on AMD Software Adrenaline Edition - enable and disabled GPU scaling on AMD Software - reset monitor settings This is the only game I ever had this issue, how can I fix this?
Hello, Does this issue also occur in other games or during general use? Since you’ve already tried many solutions, it’s possible that the problem is due to a hardware defect; perhaps with a USB hub, USB port, motherboard, or something else. Marius
No such issue with any other games, software or general PC use. Yesterday evening it worked again when I disabled GPU scaling on AMD Software, today it's not working again. I also just did a full GPU Driver and AMD Software reinstall without success. Edit: I also experience this a few months ago with a different motherboard
This is an interesting case. Could you provide a video of the issue? That might help. It’s possible that something else is interfering with your mouse, such as a shifter or another peripheral. The challenge with computer gaming is the wide variety of setups, which means there are many variables. Heck, even a poweroutlet can cause issues.
After much troubleshooting I found the issue finally! Your idea of being a USB hub fault prompted me to check every peripheral connected to my PC and it turns out it's the driver for the Apple trackpad I use on my racing rig. If I use just the Windows generic driver for it, I have no issues, but I don't have right click and scroll functionality. If I install this driver, I have full trackpad functionality, but if I start the game using it, the game won't recognize the cursor. If I have another mouse connected to the PC additionally to the trackpad, everything works fine, so for now my solution to keep the trackpad with full functionality and have it working in-game is to have the dongle of a wireless keyboard+trackpad combo plugged in to the PC and the trackpad. Tested it a few times and so far it's working. Now why it worked previously without this workaround is beyond me since I didn't have to reinstall or update the trackpad driver in several months at least. Very niche situation, but weird nevertheless. Appreciate the answers and the idea
