Have noticed for a while now that when i get into the car for the first time after firing up AMS2, the performance of my PC is poor for 90-180 seconds. I run Crew Chief and SimHub, and Simhub cannot display/update its screen as the PC seems to have no bandwidth left for it, and the AMS2 screen stutters horribly in game (often resulting in my crashing while i cant see what is going on)
If I flip out of the game into Task Manager, the DISK performance is sitting at 100% for drive E (an old style spinning disk). Drive C (where AMS2 is installed) is an SSD and performance looks normal.

Drive E has nothing on it other than an install of Richard Burns Rally and a folder called SteamLibrary which has a couple of files from Dec 21 and a folder called steamapps dated 01 Jan 22, which in turn contains a folder called downloading dated 9 April 22. So it appears nothing is being updated on drive E

After a couple minutes, normal service resumes and drive E is down to 0% and everything runs fine.
I turned off WIndows Update just in case that is causing an issue, but no change. I also left the PC sitting for 10 mins before launching the game, with no benefit.
The Disk doesnt go to 100% if i just sit in the AMS menu, it is only when you jump into the car to start driving that the disk light goes on constantly and performance is bad.
Further races dont show the issue, only the next time i boot the PC does the same issue recur.
    Any ideas anyone ?

could be that windows uses a part of that disk for temporary caching
    Have you enough memory installed?
Is your :TMP assigned to E: ?
Have you tried to detach that drive?
What are the specs of your PC?

I would detach and see what happens. Maybe check what drive windows is using for the paging file:
