I just joined the forum and didn't see a new member section, so I'll post here. I bought Automobilista 2 and the 2020-2021 Season Pass September of last year and I have never played it yet. VR is the main importance to me. I have been playing Project Cars 2 for a long time and restarted my career at least eight times as new PC, new VR headset, full motion cockpit, and so on. I keep changing my cockpit and restart PC2 career from scratch. One day I'll complete it and then on to AM2. So obviously to me, career mode is critical and I've been waiting for it to be announced in an update for AM2. So I hope the goal is still there. I'll continue supporting this race sim because of all the things I've read about it and its support of VR. A ton of content in nice, good tire model, etc. all of it sounds awesome. But I really am hoping when I finally hang up PC2, something is ready career wise for AM2. I'll keep supporting AM2, AM3, or whatever. I'm sure it will continue past 2021 and I'll be purchasing whatever season pass to get ongoing updates. So when does the 2020-2021 Season Pass run out? When will Season Pass 2022-2023 be available? I'm happy to wait on career mode till as much content (cars/tracks) are there to make it more extensive.
Hey, i think you might take a look at the shop descriptions again. Season pass is 2020-2022 (also covering the year 2022). Carreer mode is planned, but for the endgame for AMS2, due to all the requirements to make it work properly.
That reminds me of seeing a mention of that in some past update on AMS2 in the past, but I'm 65, so memory cells are the first to go. Good to get confirmation though.
While there's no dedicated career mode you can still set up some custom championships that are pretty good and can keep you busy. Takes a bit of work rather than having everything just set up for you but it's worth it imo. It wouldn't be all that different from what pcars2 offers other than having a check mark to check off next to a championship screen.
What I do is setup 4 custom championships with 4 different types of cars / tracks. Some of the tracks might over lap but I try to keep that staggered. Like start off one championship with one track but put the same track last in the second championship and so on. This way you don't run into playing the same track back to back. Then I play one car / track at a time going left to right on each championship and this kinda plays out like the PC1 career mode without the calendar. So each race is a different car / track that I need to take some time to learn/brush up on.
