Hey y'all! I love the sim! While I've owned AM2 for probably about a year, I never really played it that much cause I found the cars to be too forgiving. However, I just tried the new 1.3 Update, and I think this just replaced AC as my new favorite sim! The cars are still a bit too forgiving if you get too much slip angle, but you can actually hustle the cars now! The cars communicate when the back end is stepping out, and the front end doesn't just randomly wash and the FFB is telling you so much about what's happening on the track surface and when the brakes lock! It's fantastic! That being said, the things I had in mind are just UX changes. I play in VR, and there's no real way to customize the location of the on screen widgets along with which ones you want to use. Also, how you actually interface with the sim is really frustrating. It's not that clear which buttons you need to press to select certain tabs, and I have to hard press my touchpad (Logitech T650) in order to click anything. Updating that to recognize the soft taps instead of a hard button press would make a world of difference, honestly. Other than that, did I read somewhere that mods are now allowed in game? Or am I confusing that for another sim?
I agree that the user experience in the menus could be improved. Have you looked at Options -> Edit HUD Layout? You have to be in driving mode (test day for example) to see the menu, it's not available from the main menu. That menu should you give full control over which widgets are enabled and where they are placed. Since you drive in VR, have you tried out the Gaze Control in Options -> Virtual Reality? Mine is set at manual select and I feel it makes things easier.
