    Hi everyone

I've just got started with sim racing and I'm focusing on AMS2 so thought I would join this forum and hopefully get some ideas and advice from other drivers.

I started a few months ago with RaceRoom (I still enjoy that title). It ran well on the new mini PC I bought to double as my work and gaming machine – I travel between two counties so portability of gaming and work device is important:

RaceRoom ran well. But I wanted to try ACC and it ran badly so I bought the external GPU:

Now RaceRoom runs even better, ACC was fine but I didn’t like the feeling of driving ACC. So I got AMS2 and I love it.

I bought a used Logitech G29 wheel and pedals and I’m really having fun. I can see myself getting a direct drive wheel and better pedals in the next few months – I’m open to ideas but so far thinking the Monza R9.

I prefer AMS2 to RaceRoom because of the mods and the option for rain.

I’m a big Ayrton Senna and getting his various cars means a lot to me. I’m really enjoying the 1986 Lotus Renault 98T with the JPS skin. Only pity is that Senna's helmet is not authentic - would love to know how to change that.

So far I’m spreading my time between a quite a few different cars:
    • GT3 Honda NSX – because it’s a beautiful car
    • GT3 BMW M6 – because I used to have one!
    • GT3 McLaren 720S – beautiful and popular choice it seems
    • Formula Classic Gen 1 – Lotus 98T
    • Formula Classic Gen 4 – Honda MP4/6
    • Formula Ultimate Gen 2 – I have the liveries for the 2025 F1 season (fantastic)
    • P1 Gen 2 AJR Honda – beautiful car, opportunity for night driving
    • P3 Roco 001 – not so fast and loads of fun, good for learning lines and spin control it seems
    • Formula Inter MG-15 – as above
I would love to find a BMW M8. Can anybody help?

These are the circuits I’m getting familiar with:
Suzuka, Interlagos, Kyalami (I’m South African!), Jerez, A1 Ring, Monza, Yahuarcocha.
Yahuarcocha in Ecuador is stunning and the A1 Ring is an amazing flowing circuit.

I would like to know which track has lights that I can drive at night.

At the moment I’m kinda jumping around a bit between cars and tracks. I’m having fun but I feel I need to focus a bit to improve. I would welcome suggestions.

    I have started this course:

Are there any other forums I should join?

    Thanks for reading.

    Gavin

The BMW M8 is part of Racin' USA pt1 DLC. I personally recommend buying the full Racin' USA pack because 9 track locations is a good deal for the price (IMO).
