night races

Is it possible to set up a race that starts in the dark.
I've set up a single race start time 1:00 am it's still day light.
I have tried this on a couple official tracks but no night time.
Is this not an option.

Not dark in practice or qualifying just for the race.

 

You can set up night practice (or qual) in your PLR file and GDB file.

for example
in PLR
\Users\YourName\Documents\Automobilista\userdata\YourName
[ Race Conditions ]
Run Practice1="1"
Run Practice2="1"
Run Practice3="0"
Run Practice4="0"

in GDB
TestDayDay = Friday
TestDayStart = 9:00
Practice1Day = Friday // Friday Practice
Practice1Start = 14:00
Practice1Duration = 90
Practice2Day = Saturday // Saturday Practice
Practice2Start = 03:00

Now 2nd practice will be in night time.

 

interesting thank you , but may be it shoud be easier in the menu to select night time, without editing some files....

 

Night races still run a bit poorly, I guess it's how it's gonna be.

Just got 1080 Ti OC and Coffee Lake 8700K to finally cure all my performance issues in sim racing, still can't use nearly full grids, without dropping the graphical details and considerably compared to daytime (no offence to Reiza, I think AMS looks good, but only if you crank the settings). Triple screen setup

If you edit the plr properly you do not need to edit the gdb. The gdb is located in the respective track folders.
