    Hi all

I'm new to this forum (first post!). I began sim racing in 1975 playing "Speed Racer" which you can see in my avatar picture. You basically steered from left to right as cars rained down from the top of the screen. The accelerator controlled how fast the cars rained down. It was 40c for 3 minutes or about $8 per hour to play which in today's money would be about $80 per hour!! So my 2000 hours across R3E, ACC, AC and now starting AMS2 would cost the equivalent of $160,000 in 1975. And people say modern sim-racing is expensive..:D.

Back then I could only dream (and I did!) of racing around Bathurst in VR with surround sound - something I did today in AMS2 and it was amazing. I have decided that AMS2 of all my favourite sims offers the best VR experience so I plan to spend much more time in this sim at least for a while!

[EDIT: there is no bug - see posts below if you are interested.]

One little bug I've found with the 2020 stock car [EDIT: problem seems to be just the Chevrolet) is the windows of the rear doors in VR often load black rather than transparent which means if you look hard left you see black. If you move the seat forward you end up in front of the steering wheel. To be clear the front left and right windows are OK, its the rear left and right windows that sometimes (80% of the time for me) load black. The driver by default is well back - at the point where the front door meets the rear door so you do have a black strip there - I'm talking about the rear door window being black (not the strip in between the doors). If you stand outside the car you can see into the car through the rear window so it should be transparent the other way and 4/5 times it's not.

It seems as a new person to the forum I can't load pictures I have taken to better illustrate. Please give me dozens of likes to get my reputation up (and stroke my ego).

Apologies for the wordy post. Let me know if it's in the wrong place. If someone can suggest a fix I'd be grateful otherwise I guess I'm reporting a bug. My game and all my drivers etc are up to date.

    Thanks!

I could be wrong - but I think the rear windows aren't windows - they are solid bodywork. The modern Brazilian stock cars are silhouettes.

Thanks for your reply @Gagaryn. I don’t think that’s right. On the Toyota you can see out the window on the rear door when you turn your head hard left. On the Chevrolet in the same spot you can’t see out BUT you can see in from the outside. (In VR it’s possible to walk around the car - very cool).

    OK - I mentioned I was new...

    Just for the record though:

This (below) is a screenshot of the 2020 Toyota stock car. The rear window is clearly transparent. I can see the driver and the grass through it. And you can see through it from the inside as well. (All is good).

This (below) is the 2020 Chevrolet stock car. It is blacked out in the rear window around the number. You can't see in or out through the rear window. (All good again).

I now realise there is no bug (apologies all). I was switching between the two cars without realising the difference.
