I didnt know if this would go in the 1.6.9 performance thread or not, but I think something changed recently thats caused the steam deck to struggle to run certain tracks on the same graphics settings that I've used for a few months now.

Originally I had car detail set to high, and a few other settings turned up to medium or high and ran at a stable 60fps with 20 car fields.
Now though I've noticed on Sebring at the start of the race on the front straightaway the game drops by around 30fps and starts to rubber band lag until you're past the front straightaway. Laguna Seca is another one. I think its around turns 1 to 3 the fps drops a lot and then smooths back out once you're past that point. Im sure theres more tracks but I mainly like to drive on a few that IMSA race at so I haven't noticed any others.

Currently I have to have every single graphics setting turned down to low or off, and all anti aliasing disabled to run at 60fps.

It just seemed like there might be some sort of issue going on because I remember the tracks not having problems until recently.

Not played AMS2 on Deck for a couple of weeks due to my Steam Deck time being dominated by Super Woden Rally Edge, but a couple of things have helped me with AMS2 in the past. If you limit the fps to 45 it feels pretty smooth, not significantly worse than 60fps and it gives you a bit of performance headroom. Also, I'm now running the lossless scaling app from Steam, which although it doesn't quite work as per the instructions, it does seem to improve AMS2 performance. It needs a bit of trial and error to get the best balance, but it's worth buying as it works in other games too.
