Does anyone know which tracks/layouts would be historically correct for racing the Opalas?

I've haphazardly tried various tracks with the Opalas, and while some work just fine, others would probably be considered genuinely life-threatening in real life racing.

What tracks were actually raced in the Opalas in real life? I'd like to run a Custom Series or three with them. I kind of like them.

    Thanks!

I think maybe both of those tracks don't exist anymore. I find references to "Mineirão (Belo Horizonte)" and "Pernambuco" in a list of inactive motor racing tracks in Brazil. Caruaru is in Pernambuco, but it can't be Caruaru because that track was opened in 1992 and didn't exist back in 1986. So I think it's an old track that doesn't exist anymore.

Google Image search result for Minerão:

It was probably a temporary street circuit then. That structure that you see in the background is a football (soccer) stadium called Mineirão.

    Google Maps

If you want to keep some sort of 'accuracy', then you could replace that track with Curvelo, which is also in the state of Minas Gerais. And if you are willing to push a little bit, you could replace the Pernambuco GP with Salvador, as both are located in northeast Brazil.

The Old Stock is a current league and they basically race Velocitta, Interlagos and Tarumã:

"Etapa Noturna" means "Night Race" and the date format is "DD/MM".

You can find some of these full races at Youtube:

Video about the differences between the two current classic categories of Opala (and Caravan, that is this wagon variant) racing in Brazil. The guy is a driver and mechanic (he prepares some of the cars to this competition - and some others, as Formula Truck). The Opala 250 (now called "Old Stock Street") is not present in AMS2.

If you are not a Portuguese speaker, I recommend to just watch it jumping forward to see images about the details of these cars.

There is, also, a website with all the regulations from São Paulo State (including Formula Vee and their own version of Copa Classic) racing leagues, including the Old Stock (now called Old Stock Pro) and Opala250 (now called Old Stock Street): www.faspnet.com.br

People that are into more technical information or just want to know better, this is the way.

Here is some quick links (the Opala regulations had some pictures and schematics inside):

    Old Stock Pro https://faspnet.com.br/sis_wp/regulamento/regulamento_483_tec.pdf
    Old Stock Street https://faspnet.com.br/sis_wp/regulamento/regulamento_484_tec.pdf
    Formula Vee https://faspnet.com.br/sis_wp/regulamento/regulamento_474_tec.pdf
A collection of different Copa Classic categories (there are four in São Paulo):
    https://faspnet.com.br/sis_wp/regulamento/regulamento_458_tec.pdf
    https://faspnet.com.br/sis_wp/regulamento/regulamento_459_tec.pdf
    https://faspnet.com.br/sis_wp/regulamento/regulamento_460_tec.pdf
    https://faspnet.com.br/sis_wp/regulamento/regulamento_461_tec.pdf

Folks from Cars of AMS2 (@oez @Coanda ) maybe can use this to enrich their database.
