Hello. i have a 5.1 Headset (actually 5.1 not simulated) and have always noticed rear mounted engines being very quiet compared to front mounted engines. anyhow i kinda got used to it, today i had the AI drive around in the old Porsches and noticed in the onboard that the cars own engine was quieter than the cars behind engine. so essentially my own engine is not as loud as the engine of a car thats one whole carlength away. my settings are 100 player engine 100 opponent engine there was only 1 other car nearby, so no boosted sound cuz 5 cars are around me.
Discrete 5.1 headphones, too bad many left them for fakery... Do those have inbuilt soundcard (so connected over USB probably), or like "analog" surround speakers where you have to plug into respective output jack on sound card?
analog, i have like 5 or 6 plugs in all kinds of colors https://www.amazon.de/Headset-Surround-Sound-abnehmbares-Noise-Cancellating-Mikrofon/dp/B00UHRXTM2 the usb cable is only for the lights and i think it powers something like a mini amp, cuz without it plugged in its very quiet. the mic is trash tho honestly the best fake 7.1 headset i have ever owned was the logitech g35, it had such an outstanding sound, both in the audio range and the 7.1 effect is amazing, it took me years ( i had two) to even realise its not real 7.1 and it was way ahead of its time. nowdays the fake 7.1/5.1 sound terrible, bought one from corsair half a year ago and i have used it maybe twice and only for work (music)
Is you speaker output config like this: If it's on 7.1 atm, check if you have plugged "Rear Speaker" into "Side Speaker" output in soundcard.
