Performance Suffering Heavily on Very Capable PC

The following performance figures

Interlagos + Super V8 + 20 AI drivers

Interlagos + Super V8 + Alone

 

Interlagos + Super V8 + 20 AI drivers 90-115 fps

 

I havent tried that resolution, I am running triple screens 6400x1440P.

But I will try your resolution to see how it performs.

 

I wouldn't expect the difference in fps, I can't explain it
I get 95-120 fps driving alone on Interlagos
Perhaps it's in DynHUD settings, you could try to disable it,

I spent an hour cycling every option on and off. There was no difference between DynHUD and the default.

 

What performance do you get with one screen only?

6400x1440 is A LOT of pixels, that's like 5x the number of pixels on a standard 1920x1080 screen. The game is only 32 bit, it might just be too much for it to handle, I don't know. I personally don't have any experience with 3 screen setups.

 

I will test one screen as soon as I can.

For reference, I can Run Assetto corsa and R3E at 6400x1440p above 60fps with max details.

My results with same settings as yours:

Interlagos + Super V8 + 20 AI drivers 11-60 fps

thats correct. 11FPS on starting grid

I'm sorry your single screen test doesn't deliver a higher frame rate,
I don't know what you can do. Perhaps a fellow owner of a 290x can help
Google gives a lot of hits on "290x low fps" perhaps a solution is somewhere out there.

 

if you run graphics monitoring tools is it using all of the power of the gpu? (i.e. gpuz)

can you post a screenshot of your settings in the graphics control panel?

 

I was running eyefinity 5760x1080 on a Sapphire HD7950 3GB, getting 80+fps at Interlagos with 26 cars on track. Most settings were on full but shadows were medium (shadows makes a lot of difference).
Your 290x should be coping a bit better than that I think.

Are you sure the second card is disabled? I used to have a crossfire configuration and it most definitely slowed things down on some games.

My other thought is your refresh rate. I'm not an expert on refresh rates, but is 144 taking more power? my LG monitors are much lower I think (60 or 75?), and that could explain the lower performance.

Nop. In my case if any of these settings are high/full, my performance tanks, even with all others at low.
