This may sound absurd at first, but please bear with me. Same engine, same folder structure. PC2 is reaching the end of its commercial life (it was even given for free to Xbox Live subscribers), AMS2 is just beginning. It would be heaven if the two developers reached an agreement to share tracks, and possibly cars. I own both titles, but AMS2 users would have to purchase PC2 and vice-versa, boosting sales of both titles. They could even offer a package containing both games with interchangeable tracks and cars. What do you think?

It would be nice to be able to do that but I very much doubt it as it would be like asking to play Borderlands levels in Medal of Honour because they are both FPS games using the Unreal engine.

Not quite. Those are very different games developed separately with the same engine. PC2 and AMS2 are similar games with identical folder structures (I checked). I would even bet that we could import PC2 tracks to AMS2 with some tweaking, but that is not my point here. Of course it would be a bold move and would involve some cooperation between the respective teams, but I can't honestly think of a downside here...

Many reasons why it won't happen, mostly of course, licensing. While it's a bold dream to have, it's just not something that will ever happen directly (i.e. you know the modders out there will figure out a way to do it but it won't be something supported).

I think SMS would greatly benefit from such a marriage. Not so much AMS2. To bring in PC2's car and tracks would remove AMS's identity. Also, no developer in their right mind would bundle their IP in it's infancy. Especially with a company notorious for not supporting their own property. It will never happen.

I don't think so. The tracks from both developers could be clearly identified (on the opening screen, on trackside banners). To me it would have an effect similar to Patrick Giranthon's tracks in AMS1. Can you imagine driving the Formulas at Monza or Spa-Francorchamps?

You miss my point. But I'm not trying to change your mind. And what happens when there is a problem or bug with a car or track in either game? You are over simplifying it to the extreme. IP's aren't mixed and matched like that. The line between what you'd like and reality is somewhat blurred.
