If you are anything like me you know there's a LOT of Brazilian race tracks in AMS2 and you feel a bit guilty - you know you really should get to know them a bit better. And you want to... but, but... Nords, Spa, Bathurst... Problem is where to start when you don't know your Velopark from your Velo Citta or your Goiania from your Guapore? Say what now? To help get started I've made this visual guide to the 16 standard race tracks (i.e. excluding kart tracks and rallycross). I've also shown where they are in relation to each other on the map. If there is a track record for F1, F3 or Brazilian Stock cars for a circuit I have added the appropriate logo - just to give a taste of what cars have raced there. Note that it could have been any layout or at any time: for example there was a non-championship F1 race at Brasilia in 1974 so Brasilia gets a F1 logo. So while we wait for 1.6 to drop (your guess as to when that happens is as good as mine but I'm happy that they take all the time they need) now is the perfect moment to finally get your head around all these amazing and under-appreciated Brazilian circuits. I recommend the Brazilian Stock cars, the Formula Inters and the Fuscas! Click on the image for a better view. This is my second draft. Apologies in advance for any remaining errors. All locations are approximate and there is an Easter Egg for the keen eyed.
I’m from the UK and AMS2 introduced me to almost all of these circuits, and they are all fantastic circuits to drive. I really don’t think I could pick a favourite out of any of them. I’d now choose one of the the many South American circuits over the majority of the European or more famous international ones to get a great race. Thanks for taking the time to place them on the map, it’s interesting that they’re all relatively close together, there must be a rich racing heritage in the southern half of Brazil. In Europe, there is very little coverage or reporting of the South American scene. It’s out there, but you have go looking for it. Just another reason to enjoy playing AMS2.
These tracks in South America were the reason why I started with Game StockCar and Formula Truck back in 2013, later known as AMS1...and AMS2 now. I was bothered by the many boring tracks which were and are used by F1. All classic tracks were destroyed by stupid modifications and new tracks were / are all the same boring style. That's why I love these natural tracks
I've raced a lot on Brazilian tracks since AMS1, there are some fun ones that people definitely should check out. My favorites: Interlagos, Jacarepagua, Goiânia, Brasília (fast tracks that work well with a lot of different classes), Curvelo, Velo Cittá (technical tracks that work well with a lot of different classes). Interlagos and Jacarepagua were used many times in F1. Jacarepagua, Curitiba, Goiânia, Interlagos 70s, and Brasília have outer layouts (some of them are semi-ovals). Velo Cittá is used in the Acelerados Youtube show with Rubens Barrichello.
Velo Citta is tagged in wrong place. Here is the link: Autódromo Velocitta - Google Maps On your map it must be very close to interlagos #9
Gioania, Guapore, and Cascavel are my most played. Looks like the Cascavel map is a little different from the one we have in game. I like the pseudo-ovals around Goiana and Interlagos, too.
Thanks. Good spot. Now fixed. I remember when I finished thinking there should have been a circuit north of Interlagos - I had, ahem, instead gone to Rio! My baby must have smiled at me.
I would also like to encourage people to race at Campo Grande. On paper, it looks like a silly layout but once you try to race on it you will love the racing. Overtakes everywhere! And also the long, quick, banked turn 5 is great.
Totally agree, I have never had a bad racing experience at Campo Grande. It always produces a great race. For any Europeans who haven’t tried it yet, it’s a similar feel to the Snetterton 300 layout. In fact, I was unsure of where I was going to race tonight, but not anymore. Campo Grande it is.
Goiania with the Stock 2024 Velo Citta with the Caterhams Curvelo (short) with the F-Inter And Taruma with the Ginetta GT4, during sunset and at night it is a bit like epic Forza Motorsport "bad boy" racing.
Not sure if posting videos here is suitable or not, it is relevant, but I've put the links in the video thread here for anyone interested: Need. More. Videos! C'mon guys! Cheers Andy
Keep in mind Curitiba has been (partly) demolished. So it's an historic track by now. If I remember there's a 2 or 3 others ingame which are gone. Not counting the truly historic tracks.
Guilty as charged--I've never put any time into the Brazilian content--but plan to make good use of the time until 1.6 and finally check it out. Thanks for putting this together!
