I've had some great races on this system, usually with 5-10 car grids. I also use it now when single player racing (if nobody else has signed up), as that builds up my rank on the system and adjusts the AI to my skill level, which is a really useful feature.

Just need more players to get more consistently large grids. Please join us, people!

    Hey,
Here is a summary prepared by our member Ared, enjoy:

    Hey

So as you’ve probably noticed, we’ve run a survey the last week to get some feedback on how you feel about racecraft.online.
The results are in, and you can see all details here: Racecraft.Online poll August 2023

So what are some of the highlights?

    ABOUT YOU
Well, you’re a relatively old bunch, about 50% is over 40. About 75% is from EMEA (Europe, Middle-East, Africa), 20% from the America’s, and 5% Asia, Australia, New Zealand. Not surprisingly, you can spend most time on RCO in the evenings.

Why are you here? Obviously a lot for the competition and ranked races (43,8%) (it’s literally in the FAQ the first thing mentioned what RCO is about), but also a lot as a safer alternative to Open Lobbies (28,4%) (with safety being the second thing mentioned in the FAQ).

    ABOUT US
You’re rating RCO with an average score of 7,3 with the biggest group (33,5%) giving an 8/10.
Almost 93% of you would recommend RCO to others (>=6/10), with the biggest group (42,9%) agreeing 10/10. Almost 97% of users would do more races if they had more time (>=6/10), with the biggest group (36,3%) again agreeing 10/10. That’s something we can be very proud of.

What you like most about RCO is the focus on safety and the driving standards in races (47,8% combined) and the ranked races (24%). That’s great.
What you like least is that there are not enough other players, not enough races to choose from and technical issues. Well, we agree and we’re working on that! But we can't force people to use RCO. Many bugs (especially the disconnects) need to be fixed by Reiza, and we can't make them do it quicker than they do, so there’s only so much we can influence. Bear with us, give feedback when something breaks and invite a friend… we'll make it better together.

    ELO
The original question that spraked the idea of having a poll, was whether RCO should implement an Elo-type rating in addition to the Pace, Safety and Consistency rating. Almost none of you disagreed with the idea, while agree 10/10 was actually the answer most often given (24,8%). So that’s a resounding “yes” then.

    SCHEDULE
Regarding the schedule, the majority of 62,2% is in favour of adding more Hourly series, compared to 16,9% who disagree mildly or strongly. As expected, the question of whether to run permanent GT3 and/or GT4 series was divisive. The groups in strongly disagree and strongly agree kept each pretty much in balance, but agree 10/10 was the most given answer.

Most of you don’t mind a bit of weather, as long as you’re not dumped unprepared into fog and heavy rain. That makes sense.
Almost 98% of you is ok with some use of DLC, as long as it’s not too much at a time or in Rookie. Only 2% is against any use of DLC at all.

Not surprising will be that GT is the most popular category (29,1%). What is mildly surprising is that the second biggest group has no preference (20,3%), only then followed by Formula and Historic cars.

Finally, it will come as no shock at all that GT3’s are the most popular class out there. The rest of the top 10 looks as follows:

    WHAT’S NEXT?
You have given us a load of data that we’ve only looked at high level. We’ll be looking at it in more detail and try to figure out what it means for next season’s schedule and RCO in general.
Feel free to discuss the results of the poll in Discord - A New Way to Chat with Friends & Communities, and to keep contributing to what next season should look like in Discord - A New Way to Chat with Friends & Communities.

In the mean time, drive safe and have fun!
    Ared
