    Hi,

today a new season starts, and here is a quick rundown of the changes:

The new season will span 13 weeks now, meaning you have to do a race in 8 weekly events for your results to be official in the standings. A couple of races will be twilight or night races, starting with a sunrise race in Bathurst for GT4. And now that winter is behind us in EU and US, we'll use current dates for all races again.

series We're proud to have three new hourly series:

    • for Rookie, we have a new series called Formula Rookie where where we will drive entry-level open wheel cars. We're starting with Formula Trainer Advanced, but you can expect the return of Formula Inter in future seasons.

    • for Bronze, we will have a full season of Stock Car Brazil with the 2024 cars. We'll use all tracks from the real calendar, plus some tracks where SCB drove in recent years. Rules also match those from real live: 30 minute races, mandatory pitstop for at least 2 tires, and no refuelling allowed (so bring enough from the start!)

    • for Silver, we will have Historic series featuring some of the historic content that makes AMS2 so unique. This will also be the non-DLC option to progress to Gold if you do not own LMDh cars, or if you just like some variation.

    • Club Racing is not new, but will now focus on entry-level tin-tops, with this season Mini Challenge (April), Ginetta G40 (May) and Copa Classic B (June). As an experiment we will drive in this series with default set-ups and no fuel use.
All this means we now have a nice "career-path" from Rookie to Bronze, Silver and Gold in three categories:

    GT/Prototypes: GT4 > GT3 > Pro Series > Endurance*

Open wheel: Formula Rookie > F-3 > Historic* > Premier Cup

Touring cars: Club Racing > Stock Cars > Historic* > Endurance*

    • Historic and Endurance have different cars each week, so it depends per week which path they belong to.
timetable with the added series, we have to be carefull not to have too many races running at the same time, spreading the players over too many races. So we'll only run one race per license per hour, alternating the races in that license. That means every race only runs once every 3 hours, but overall there is still a race starting almost every 15 minutes:

    time series

    00:00 F-3

    00:15 Pro Series

    00:30 GT4

    00:45

    01:00 Stock Cars

    01:15 Green Hell

    01:30 Formula Rookie

    01:45

    02:00 GT3

    02:15 Historic

    02:30 Club Racing

    02:45

    03:00 start again

This has also allowed us to make some qualy and race sessions longer, because we no longer have to squeeze them into a certain window. The new timetable is experimental, meaning it can be tweaked or changed back at any time, if it doesn't work.

Also, the new functionality to register for future races has allowed us to bring back multiple instances of Weeklies. From now on, each Weekly will run 4 times in Prime Time: once for Australia/Japan time zone, once for EU/Africa time zone, once for Brazil/Eastern North America, and once for Pacific coast America.

DLC Finally a word on DLC. In the previous season we didn't use any DLC in the hourly Rookie series. That helps beginners in the game who don't own the DLC, but means we're missing out on some cool combo's for those who do own it. So from now on we do use some DLC tracks, but:

    • we'll always make sure there are also non-DLC races for a given license, so you don't get stuck

    • remember you CAN drive DLC tracks you don't own, as long a someone else who does own the track joins the server first.
Take to the chat or schedule a race channels on Discord if you want to do a practice session or a race. There's usually someone willing to start a practice session so you can do the Clean Laps Challenge, and it also shouldn't be too difficult to find people to do a race with.

Hope you will enjoy the races, and see you on track!

    Ared
