RWB are organising a Formula Ultimate league which is an "as close as we can get" recreation of the F1 2017 season. In our eyes the F-Ultimate car in AMS is the best sim F1 car we've ever driven and want to give it some serious track time. You can sign up HERE 20 rounds on 20 tracks using the actual F1 track on any given round if it exists in AMS and replacing the ones we can't get with alternatives. Races will run every 2nd week so the league will run for 40 weeks in total. To make such a long league manageable for participants you will only score points for 15 of the races. You can race all 20 races but would drop the points for your worst 5 races or simply miss 5 races and it won't affect your F-Ultimate title hopes. We hope that this will allow more people to participate. The points system won't follow F1 as we use a system that helps keep the points spread lower and makes points available in each position. 18 people signed up in the end so we are good to go for a great opening race on Saturday and hopefully another great 19 races after! Not too late to sign up either with 4 places left I think there was a little confusion with the practice night last night but those that were there for the test races learned a lot and I thoroughly recommend getting some short race practice, especially to experience the loss of downforce when following someone - it's brutal. I think this first race is going to be a big learning curve for many of us and that'll sure make it interesting. See you on track Saturday - 9pm (UK) remember, a bit earlier than our normal start time! PS - I am thinking about extending qualy to 20 mins with a 10 min warmup to allow time for us to transition from hotlap/low fuel mode to race mode and hopefully make for a tidier race.
Great first race at the weekend and I think everyone learned a lot about running a full length F1 race in these bad boys! Tough as hell but everyone seemed to have a story after it so it certainly gave us all an experience Next track is Autopolis with lots of long high speed bends to contrast with the tight chicanes of Melbourne from the first race. Tyre's get destroyed here and should make strategy a big part of the race with all tyre compounds available to choose from. The recent patch having fixed the problem of not being able to tell what tyre compound your opponents are using means we can now implement a 2 compound use per race system into the league. Still thinking the practicalities of enforcing it and will confirm ASAP if it makes it into the next race. 20 are signed up but the last 2 places are still up for grabs as you only score points from 15 of the 20 races so if you fancy joining in, get in touch Cheers.
Hi - we will be piloting the use of 2 different tyre compounds for the race this weekend at Autopolis as mentioned previously. Use any compounds available, just make sure and use at least 2 different ones during the race. If it works out we will keep this change in for the remainder of the league. Oh and all 22 driver slots are now filled!

So the Road America race on 30th was postponed as only 6 people turned up for it even though only 4 or 5 people said they couldn't make it. Project Cars 2 effect has a lot to do with it I reckon but is it a short term issue or is the F-Ult league bleeding out? The Road America race will be re-scheduled to 14th October and if less than 10 people attend, the league will be cancelled.
Looking relatively promising to get enough for the re-run of this race. Hope to see you there and if you signed up and can't make it or have lost interest in the league please let me know. Cheers - Rodders.
