I've been having an issue with the Alpha Mini that is making the game unplayable for me unfortunately, essentially unless I'm gripping the wheel very hard it starts to oscillate and spin quite violently to the point where it's a little dangerous. I've been looking for a solution for some weeks now and feeling a bit defeated, I've tried: All sorts of FFB settings with damping, zero low force boost etc Used custom ffb settings Updated firmware on the Simagic Deleted the control config folder and later reinstalled the whole game Tried putting -ffb 600 in the launch parameters I've contacted support but haven't heard back, if you have any suggestions of what else I could try please let me know, thank you!
Custom FFB files by 3rd party creators need some updating right now, they actually cause oscillations. You should definetly try to go lower with low force boost (best to start with 0) and gain, when getting oscillations. Also start with 0 FX and increase it gradually. Have you tried these steps? Adding more (even more than expected, this setting applies dynamically to fast movements) ingame damping with default and default+ should also fight oscillations. Right now it sounds a bit like the FFB is set up too strong.
Sounds like it could be wheel issue to me. I also use an Alpha Mini and is feeling great with the following settings. Some settings can be a bit car dependent but this is a good starting point. Give it a go. Alpha Manager with latest beta firmware Force = 95 Smooth Level = 0 Inertia =5 Spring = 0 Damper = 0 Friction = 10 Speed = 0 Suspension = 1 Wheel Angle = 900deg (i let the game control the lock limit) Game effect all at 100 with interp at 0 In game Default Gain = 50 LFB = 1 FX = 70 Damping = 30
Thanks Crimson, well I am at 0 FX and low boost. Lowering the gain massively does alleviate the issue however it feels like no feedback at all is coming through so I'm not sure that's what I want either.
I'll try those but I'm fairly certain it would also cause the same issue. Funny you mention the wheel why do you think it might be? I haven't thought of it since it works without issues on other games.
I've done up to 80 damping in the alpha manager which is way too much and still made no difference. Same with in game damping.
Well considering we have the same wheel base, I'd assume the same settings would feel roughly the same. There must be something else then causing the issue if it works ok on other games. Very strange. Let me know how you go with these settings. Check the rotation settings as well, and maybe re calibrate your wheel in ams2
