Hello everyone, Excuse me if here is not the right place to ask for hardware advices Last year I purchased the Fanatec CSL DD + McLaren GT3 I do still like it but I'd like to have a smaller ( sizes, height, etc) wheelbase I watched some videos on YouTube, searched different products on Google Simagic Alpha Mini seems to be okay for me https://eu.sim-motion.com/produkt/simagic-alpha-mini-early-bird/?lang=en The question is, would it be possible to mount it on a normal PC desk, as the Fanatec CSL DD? Something like that would be perfect ( attached image) Thank you in advance, every advices are welcome
I just got a Moza R5 and while it's lower powered than the simagic, I attached it to a rather cheap $100 Amazon desk with the included desk clamps and it's working fine. So if your fear is if the desk can handle it, as long as it's not from IKEA, you shouldn't have issues.
Thank you so much for your reply The desk look pretty solid, I have a lot of stuff on it, including the 65 inches TV ( about 53 kg ) So , it should work as in the attached file from above, with this clamp?
Yep, mine has the same type of clamps and it's very sturdy, doesn't budge or move even when doing fast and sudden corrections.
Okay, thank you, again I'll try to find a wheel, for this wheelbase AFAIK, only Simagic wheels are compatible.
i had mine mounted to a old non kit set desk and it was actually more solid than my 80 profile rig . but i didn’t mind holes in my desk so i used some perfectly hole matched, builders angle brackets.
I ordered the Alpha Mini wheelbase, FX Pro wheel and the clamps SIMAGIC Multifunctional Desk Clamp I wish so bad I could find a way to lower the whole wheelbase + wheel. I can't reach my keyboard properly My desk looks very similar with this one example-desk hosted at ImgBB I have a joystick and HOTAS mounted, left and right ( flight sim ) and I would do something similar for the wheelbase Joystick / HOTAS Table Mount (Long Version) – MTSIM – MONSTERTECH Any advices ? can’t see why not , it’s still on the same edge , just upside down, will still have the issue of legs of clamp sticking up .
That's right Hopefully, the Alpha Mini wheelbase + wheel, without modifying anything, is a bit lower than the CSL DD wheelbase + McLaren GT3 wheel Thank you
it will be a little i think , you could raise up the keyboard behind it as the back is clear of cables
I received everything, mounted ans did some tests, i love this wheelbase + FX Pro wheel It looks and feels absolutely amazing. I'm not familiar with that screen, for some reason it shows a different position ( my position ) It looks like is not syncing properly or something like that I start 6th from 10 and for some reason ( i remained last, testing only) it shows still 6th position Any advices, guys?
If it's the steering wheel screen, maybe you need to activate the udp protocol on the options menu, there also should be tutorials on how to properly set up your wheel with the game.

There was this option, I'm 100 % sure I had a button mapped to " DRIVE" but I can't find it anymore which option is this one
