I've installed Automobilista on my Windows Server 2012 server via SteamCMD but the dedi won't launch without crashing and creating a dump file. I have no plugins installed and it's crashing with any combination of cars and tracks. From some reading it appears that some users say it works if they install Steam and login to their account on the server. Is this true?
Yes.. Renato has answered that unti the Dedicated Server Tool is released, you need Steam to run the Dedicated .exe file. Just install Steam and after installing the game, change it to run in Offline mode! You will still be able to run the 'AMS Dedicated.exe' file.
You´re going to need Steam to install the Dedi Tool whether it´s with the game itself or as a standalone. Steam client also needs to be running (though not necessarily logged on) for Dedi Tool to work.
