Hi all new here just wanted to see if any one else has had same issues in vr. The game plays smooth as butter in day time 21 ai on kaylami with zero time progression now the issue seems to be with time progression enabled as the race becomes dusk with time progression on. Almost as soon as all lights turn on all the vehicles and dusk / night begins the frame rate is severely effected me and 2 friends have had this since ea and its been smooth as butter night to day and day to night and great experience. Settings are the same as we used on ea and all experiencing the same issue on 3 systems in vr and on pc monitor seems to be possibly a bug with v1. 0
In my experience, steamVR does something weird where it auto-scales the resolution to what it thinks you can handle, but the hardware load at dusk is too high for the daytime settings to work. Kyalami is also allegedly one of the more intensive tracks. But I've had this issue for a while. I just avoid day-night transitions. Maybe they fix it eventually ,maybe they dont. I dont remember having a problem with it when I first bought the game, but I attribute some of that to SteamVR's weird unpredictable behavior. As far Flat Mobiliista 2 goes, I think it's just harder to render regardless of VR or not.
This is the thing we have all played with day to night transitions smooth as butter x2 of our systems are i7 7700k and 1080ti and one is an absolute beast i9 9900k paired with a 2080ti strange why all the sudden we have had this issue I have even lower ai from 21 to 10 and tried different tracks it's really strange ill do some more testing tonight
Shadows, AA, reflections and grass seem to hit fps hardest and the long shadows of dusk are terrible both to look at and performance wise.
