For a while now I've been interested in replicating real championships from history. AMS 2 offers a lot of room to do this, and for example in F1 1990, you can replicate a large amount of the season directly using tracks and cars in the game. However, naturally AMS2 is missing some tracks, but there are similar replacements that can give the same feel. For example, 1990 and 1991 seasons of F1 included Phoenix, a US street circuit that very few sims have (think Geoff Crammond's Formula One Grand Prix), but Long Beach fits perfectly. If you show me footage of Phoenix 1990 and Formula Classic Gen 3 at Long Beach trackside cams in replay, you get a similar enough feeling to fill the gap. Then today I realised AVUS and the Betonschleife are almost the same length and basically exactly the same shape, and there are two airport circuits in AMS 2 and about as many in DTM 1991 season (with Group A and the . So, I thought i'd start a thread discussing how to replicate seasons based on tracks that have the same 'feel'. I'll start with F1 1990 and see what ideas you guys have for more! The key in my opinion is not to be in the same place, but to have the same feel in general. For DTM 1991 you can have AVUS being Beton Schleife, and Galeao and Cleveland airports taking the role of Wunstorf and Diepholz... maybe one of the Adelaides can fit with Alemannenring and something like Salvador for Norisring.
