    Seasons greetings!

Hi ! I stalk this forum lots, keeping an eye on the game but rarely posting. So I thought I'd give the whole communicating thing a try...

Thanks to Reiza for an amazing game. I dont get to play many games these days so this is quickly becoming the only thing I play... I'd love to know whats the most popular car class that people like to drive thats not gt3;), what does every one like to play offline? Anyone have their suggestion for the best car class, custom AI setup? Formula v10 gen2 and I getting on like reunited long lost friends at the moment... really enjoy the Proto1 cars too, think the AI in its current state lends more towards this type of car as opposed to the open wheelers, doesnt stop me from playing them though (also doesnt stop me getting frustrated with AI treating the formulas like bumper cars either ;). Side note, in my custom championships I set my AI defending to 0.1, which takes away a lot of the jerky car movements in the formula cars, early testing for me but like it so far, seems to also let the faster AI pass the slower AI on straights more often too)

Has anyone come across any good livery content for the Formula Reiza class? I have found this amazing one by Erbinator and wolf, but would love to have a proper season to race in rather than two split years. Started making my own but I'm not great at it...

With Custom AI grids, along with our own liveries, its making the game a lot more immersive, bloody love it. few other things which I'd love to see or able to do to make take it to another level

So, dear Reizanta, here is my car-istmas list ;) .....for 2022 and beyond for the perfect game (personal opinion, pinch of salt etc)

1 - custom helmets and overalls for drivers and pit crew. read this a lot in the feature request thread already but typing it to add to the voices so it comes sooner :D

2 - Custom advertisment boards. with the historic cars, plus the historic track versions, driving the 2001 f1 v10 gen2 cars (for instance) with custom grid and liveries is amazing, its what 12 year old me imagine when playing gp4... but to do a whole season you have to add other tracks to make up the numbers. spielberg or interlagos for instance, and being able to swap out historical ad boards sponsors to the different eras, or even being able to switch out for different events/car classes though only cosmetic, would change this game massively. Love how transported I feel driving around in VR seeing the mock 'Fasters' ad board up around silverstone 2001 version! being able to customise this to our liking (to a certain extent, as im sure there are obligations to reizas actual sponsors :D so maye only a certain specified amount?) would be so good. Also as a side note the amount the 'Extreme Sim Racing' ad board is peppered all over every track is a shame, no offense to that company but its pretty bland looking and makes parts of some track pretty boring asthetically. Im sure not a problem for some people, breaks the immersion for me when Im spinning into them after breaking too late into those corners:):)

3 - custom tyre liveries. Be nice to customise that further for the open wheel cars as they are in constant view

4 - busier pit lane. Not more animated models or anything too taxing like that, just a pit area that isn't just four walls... Add some props, or at least try to make it look like a car gets worked on in there... I need a welcoming safe space from all the horrors I cause on track...

5 - atmospheric sounds. i.e. end of races you can hear the crowd cheer... Or when sitting in the pits, hearing pit lane sounds in the BG. that type of thing. Would also like to hear more proximity audio too, like driving close to the barriers at high speed and hearing the positional 3d depth change

6 - more realistic qualifying behaviour from AI opponents. Many things wrong with AI behaviour in qualifiying, (I mainly use the open wheel cars at least for reference) so irritating when they race you/get in the way, only to dive into the pits at the last corner... cut their speed by 50 % get out the way when you and other AI approach on thier out and in laps.

7- AI car faliures, crashes & retirement. Though I see AI spin off from time to time (spar 1993 at Campus quite a bit actually there) They tend only to do it a certain points routinely, never have any car faliures and when they do get stuck in gravel, or hitting a barrier trying to get into the pits (speilberg most formulas) they just sit there for 8+ laps. If an AI car has not put in a new sector time after 2 plus minutes it should be retired to break this immersion. Which leads onto....

8- saftey cars, better yellow flag implimentation. its part of racing and racing strategy and I feel it has to be in there! bunching the grid back up half way through the races adds to the excitment and realism.

9 - AI penalties. Probaly difficult to impliment? But again would make a major difference to the immersion in the single player game

10 - not a request, but more observation... I dont contribute much to this community then post requests .... but I do love seeing the custom content from people and the input and commitment people bring, the custom livery and grids shared on race department is my example.... And I hope to see these types of community 'packs' becoming much more comprehensive and I think Reiza can capitalise on it by letting users customise even more! Being able to share and download yours or someone elses custom championship that's set up, for example, foor the1997 f1 season for the v10 gen1, with custom liveries, custom grid, helmets, overalls, pit crew, ad boards, all for that year and era.... All in one easily shared package online. they'd be hundreds of fresh content and variations added by the players I'm sure, so many possibilites of different ways of playing.... Custom made content like this would, I believe would attract a host of new users;) (personal opinion, pinch of salt etc)

Sorry if this has turned into something more suited to the feature request thread, I got carried away.....

During lockdown this game was a saviour, so thanks to you a lot Reiza, I hope support keeps growing for this game, and in turn we see the game grow more and more, as it already is!

Thanks for reading this far if you did... Happy and healthy christmas to you!

I would love to have custom helmet/suit/gloves for the driver. One of the best features of iRacing is that you can actually create an avatar for yourself.

The best car classes are always what you enjoy most, but objectively its the GT Classics, GT Vintage(s) and BMW M1 Procar Series :p

I havent tried any of those classes, I'll give it a go. My tomorrow day time has these and Brands Hatch written all over it. I probaly in the past end up veering away because I play in VR and find the gear shifting with my stick a bit hard to get used to, so tend to focus on cars with paddle shifters...

Just raced hockenheim 2001 circuit twice with the formula v10 gen2's,115 opponent skill and firstly 100 aggression and then 0 aggresion to see the difference (in game, not xml, though defending in xml set to 0.1 for all drivers) and have to say both were so... much... fun. The higher the aggression the more the AI would send it (too much, too risky, too often and then cut curb to gain) into clark, ost and senna. 0 would be slightly too hesitant against each other but would go for me given the space... though ai schumacher and hakkinen still managed to pass other ai quite consistantly, just taking a longer time doing it. (0.98, 0.972 strength respectively on the xml compared to Fisichella on 0.86 for reference, who finished 12th, around 1 min 30 behind schuey who was first) ....18 laps with tyre and fuel set x3, started last, early 1 stop, nailed some exits, completely distracted for others which nearly ended me, some racing at the end for 18th for a few laps then eventually 17th with salo, getting him mid sachs and managing to fend him off with one lap left. Honestly the most fun I've had on any racing game, or any game for a long, long time
