I've loved racing in AMS2, but I have two problems with it that are entirely my own doing. First, I always try to compete in big/long events or massively customised championships, and that can get overwhelming. Second, I'm always racing the same cars round the same tracks: vintage F1, GT3, LMdH, Spa, Nordschleife, Monza, blah blah blah, you know the deal. As a result, I don't race as much as I'd like because the prospect of a daunting behemoth of an event with the same car/track combos doesn't always get my petrol pumping. To get around this, I've created a 16-race mini-series that features short weekends (15mins of quali, then a 30min race) around tracks I'm unfamiliar with or don't race as much as I'd like, driving cars I've never/rarely driven before. Hopefully this will reignite (okay I'll stop with the motoring puns now) my love for racing, and my love for AMS2. The series features the following events, with the order TBC: Caterham 620R @ Cadwell Park Copa Classic (B&FL) @ Interlagos '76 Copa Montana @ Brasilia Ginetta G40 @ Jerez German Group A @ Spielberg '77 Group C @ Road America GT Classics @ Auto Club Speedway - Road Course GT1 @ Adelaide '88 Mitsubishi Lancer @ WWT Raceway - Road Course Mini Cooper JCW @ Snetterton Opala Stock '86 @ Kyalami '76 Porsche Carrera Cup @ VIR BMW M1 Procar @ Cleveland Stock Car Brazil '99 @ Jacarepagua Stock Car Brazil '24 @ Goiania Vintage Touring Cars @ Le Mans Bugatti Just looking at the variety of experiences in store for me that don't include any F1 cars or tracks I know like the back of my hand fills me with excitement for what's to come. Hopefully this mini-project of mine will show me that I don't have to have the same experiences in sim racing all the time, and I can love AMS2 all over again.
