During the holidays I invited some friends over for some simracing. I'm contemplating which track / car combo I want to show them.

For car I was thinking Porsche Cayman gt4, since it's a cool car and relatively easy to drive as well.

For track it needs to be easy to learn, but still interesting to drive. I was thinking of Guapore, which is quite easy to learn.

But maybe there are better options? I thought of Laguna Seca, which is more exciting, but I think the corkscrew is too tricky.

Let me know what you think

Maybe Road America is a good and more simple track. You can also try the content which is in the demo

Ginette GT5, P4 and F3 are pretty easy to drive. Some beginner tracks could be Monza Junior or the short Silverstone layout.

Try the Sprint Cars, they are very planted and feel great. As for tracks, all the short ones will do (Brands Hatch, Monza Junior, Suzuka West, Cordoba, etc).

Same type of tracks, but also try the Mini JCW.
At this point keep the weather dry as the wet tires need some work

A friend of mine who doesn't like other sims than ACC very much had a blast with Formula V12 at Monza in AMS 2. He was really impressed by the feel of downforce and how the car handled. Sure, at first he had difficulties to keep it on track but after a couple of minutes he got used to the power and the absence of electronical aids.

Thanks for all the suggestions. I think I will stick with the Porsche, but will try again the other recommended cars. For sure I will consider Monza junior, brands hatch and Silverstone short layout!

I think it's a lot of fun to take one of the lower powered Caterhams for a spin: they're agile, direct, not too fast or difficult to drive and have one of the best ffb ingame. Trackwise I'd suggest Oulton Park, Brands Hatch or Laguna Seca. This car works best on twisty tracks.

brands hatch is not an easy track IMO. plus, is a track without chicanes. everyone should practice chicanes in any sim. also very few (if any) sausages.
my favorite (AMS2) track to test cars is imola. not easy either but it has all kind of corners (hairpins, fast and slow chicanes, flat out turns, slow turns, literally everything) and grear flow. not narrow but not too wide either.
porsche is the most difficult car in GT3 and GT4 classes. didn't drive it that much in AMS2 TBH but i would chose an easier front engine car in those categories like the merc or the ginetta.
i love silvestone (GP layout) but i dont use it for testing cause is completely flat and also miss chicanes.
your friends are new to AMS2 but they have all DLCs? monza, RA and silverstone that people recommented here, are not in the base content, mind you

Caterham Academy, Supersport and Superlight at any of the UK-Tracks.
Formula Vee on the Brazilian tracks.
F-Trainer Novice/Advanced on any small/medium track you desire, preferably UK again.
Copa Classic, etc will do just fine too in Brasil.

These cars will teach them racing.

Edit: F301/309 will be great as well.

Yes, Formula 3 and FV12 at Jerez no-chicane were good single-seater combos when I tried them a few months ago.

For clarification: My friends are not sim racers, they are here for a day to try out my simrig in AMS2. I think the Porsche gt4 is quite easy, but perhaps there are better cars to test for them.

The track should be one that is fun and easy to learn.

Don't let people play in your simrig. They will abuse everything...

The Puma GT5 might be suitable.

Well, I mean.. They aren't used to simracing, So they will probably stomp the pedals, either press or pull on the wheel heavily, etc. Or even get out the rig wrongly and shake everything up.. lol. Or even adjust the chair's back or anything else, lol.

That makes me wonder if anyone's tried using those small dash displays you can get for your rig as mirrors. I bet they'd leave them pointing in all the wrong directions. :p

(Probably not possible because it would require support from the game for the function, and I've never heard of something like that.)

To get back on topic, I think Guapore might be a good one. It's not too complex and has a nice flow. Not sure about cars. Something on the slower side that doesn't require constant control and doesn't hit its limits quickly. How are the P4's? Haven't driven them in a while.
