I'm near 1,644 in this moment with Kart, honda engine, reynard chas. 3 second from top. I tryed everything, setup from top. Default, lap, setup , lap. I can find this 3 seconds. Funny thing, the replay of TT board is not showing the gears. My gears table. 1t - to 6 2t - to 2 3t - from 2 to 1 , to 2 4t ,5t - 2 6t - from 4 to 2 7t - from 3 to 2 8t - from 5 to 2 9t - 2 10t - 1
You sound like Donald Trump about his votes he needed... "Listen, all I need is 3 seconds, please find me 3 seconds" Jokes aside, post a recording of your lap with telemetry on so we can watch the video to potentially help like a coach would do.
Oh man why did you tease with this track? I just hate it after trying to get down into your 1:06-ish Because of different things I cannot cope with tracks with narrow/twisted corners. Its the same with Monaco where I cannot get around the hairpin - in any reasonable way. But I did compare your setup against both its offspring Adrians and another one (cant remember name but about #6-8). And even compared against Adrians then at least for me yours are better driveable. ByTheWay: Why are you asking about gears? Its revealed inside the setups.
Gears in the Meaning of 1frst gear, second etc. I'm in doubt of what gear use on the entry of 4,5,7t. Low to 1frst, o keep the second without much trottle. i have a low engine brake..for entry in those turns. I lost 1 second there. And 2 seconds in 6 and 7t
One of my favorite US tracks, Long Beach. Very challenging to turn consistent & fast laps. There are quite a few places to get tripped up. I haven't spent any time in TT, though.
Snagged Adrian"s setup and got within 0.003 of the top time. Had better sector 1 and 3 times, but lost about 0.15 just in sector 2 over those few corners. The car wants to go flying if you use too much curb on T5. I had a 17.9 ish first sector in another attempt, but couldn't replicate it again.
If you need gears for reference, here's a video from my attempt and you can see the dash. Just find Adrian's gear ratios from his setup and it should match with what I'm doing in the video.
@DavidGossett Looks amazing. My problem on these kinds of tracks is that because of my lil leg probl I have to use an abrubt gear down technic at entrance of (sharp) corners instead of braking to get the car to rotate. I tell myself that this gives me kinda advantage on some tracks -but in reality it gives me a dis-advantage on tracks like this where there is no space to let the car rotate itself. Im absolutely not moaning - hehe but its pretty irritating (or annoying ) because we all want to be fast(est) on tracks
@DavidGossett Great Lap mate! Seems like I need to find some time in the sectors 1 and 3 So far I am happy with the setup but I am still working on it to match my preferences and to make the car handle the bumps a bit better.
I tried a few laps, most of Long Beach is nice but I really hate that last turn, it doesn't matter which car or game I'm playing I always have trouble with that last turn, just like the hairpin at Monaco.
Nope, the 1,644 is the wall for me. G29 here, can't turn tigh enough. (Its controller fault, gne, gne)
You could raise the steering ratio. It'll make quick inputs easier at the cost of fidelity. For some cars on Monaco and Long Beach, it's pretty much a necessity. It's great for hot lapping, but not ideal over a race stint given it's easier to lose the car if the rears start to go.
Hello, I am in the same situation as you. Do you have any advice for me on these turns as a controller user?
Increase steering lock in the car setup. The key is finding a steering lock value that's high enough to go through tight turns but isn't too sensitive in the fast turns, the exact value can vary depending on the car.
