I have SimTools in use to control my motion sim. It has worked very well so far with AMS2 (two years with SimTools 2.5 and one year with v3 beta, now v3 release candidate). Now lately I've been having problems with the sim device. I'm starting to wonder if AMS2 has somehow updated or changed and is causing these problems? I reinstalled the AMS2 game plugin, but the situation did not change. I'm running latest version of AMS2, 1.5.6.3. Here are the symptoms: 1) For some reason the movement comes really strangely, e.g. on a flat track, when driving straight or when going up and down gently, the device moves as if it snaps into motion from its place, it is jerky. I can no longer adjust it to be sensitive enough. Either it moves jerkily or not at all. Or actually, the jerky movement is not in every direction. I can't pinpoint exactly, but even on flat tarmac there is a sudden movement, with which the left or right front axle of my device moves with a jolt. 2)There is a problem with the AMS2 plugin. Sometimes there is a connection to the game, but at the same time SimTools doesn't recognize which car is on the track, so it doesn't change the correct profile. So far auto detection has worked ok. 3) Sometimes a car does not give all DOF values to SimTools. When I turn on data capture, I only get three values (roll, pitch, yaw). Heave, Sway and surge don't show any data. I can't believe that would be the case, because for all my favourite cars so far I have been able to capture all DOF values. Is there anyone else struggling with similar problems? Windows 11 issue? AMS2 issue? Something interfering with the connection to the plugin? Tried, no avail: USB cable change COM-port number change Lowered SimTools intensity to from 98% to 85% I have installed some new Steam games. But there are no new (always running) background programs. Any help is much appreciated!
