Could people plz do some testing with the wet tyres on various cars plz. I have been testing the Brazilian Stock Cars around Vintage Kyalami, a circuit I am quick around and have discovered the wet weather tyres do not heat up when driven hard. Even deliberately sliding the car violently has very little effect. Locking up the fronts at high speed also does nothing, only doing doughnuts had an effect. When pre-heated the tyres lost all temperature after only 4 corners. The 2020, 2021 and 2022 stock cars are affected. The 2019 Stock cars were also affected to a slightly lesser degree. It would be nice if more people could do some testing as this is a huge potential issue if more cars a suffering a similar issue.
i fully agree, whatever rework they have done with the wet tires, their working temperatur range is off, its probably not the tire temp itself, cuz i think they shouldnt be very hot (obviously the water cools them off) but the temperatur range in which they work best is also very low (essentially like a winter tire for your road car)
Als driving in the dry but cold (below 10 Celsius) and using soft tires and dropping the psi and closing the brakeduckts I cant get the tires heat up.
i highly doubt u will get 80°C into the tires if the tracksurface is that cold not only is the track cold but the air is also cold af i can only relate to my motorcycle tires, but its really hard getting heat into them if the air/road temp is at like 15°C, and i am trying hard to get temp into them, ofc they get a bit warm but nowhere near "ideal"
I would expect wet and intermediate tires to be revised within the next 2-3 updates. Dry tire compounds have been revised, now it's time for wets to be revised. But as mentioned above in this thread: In some track/weather conditions, you'll struggle with cold tire temps no matter what. Hopefully the In-Car Menu will get a new feature that lets us set new tire pressures before entering the pits – that would be very helpful in longer races with variable weather. Fingers crossed!
I've been finding that wet tires never get up to optimum opperating temps even whilst driving hard, and then when the track drys they overheat faster than paper hitting lava. Also the soft tires on the GT3's go off like a switch after only 2 or 3 laps of Donnington, they don't even gradually drop off, it is just like a swith. Granted i usually use same day weather and its been very hot lately, but the way this happens is just not right, and does'nt seem to be the same for the A.I.
