Me: Stock car 2019 in Jacarepaguá 2005 Hi guys, I am one of those the forum every now and then to see if there is any news about the update. No need to say that the atmosphere here has recently been a bit tense at times, and I would say in both directions: both the inpatients and those who treat these condescendingly. I started playing AMS2 around March, and I’ve already logged a total of 233 hours (which for me is really a lot). Still, I keep finding cars and cars+tracks combinations I hadn’t really given a shot before and keep being surprised by how fun they are. So, earlier today, I decided to give a try to all recent stock cars (2019 onwards) and see what their differences are. I have driven quite a lot in the last weeks the stock car 2024 and I am loving it. If you are like me and started played recently you might be in the same boat: you read that the 2024 version has an earlier version of the 1.6 physics and you think; well that's the one I am racing. BUT! There was a big change from 2019 to 2020. The 2019 version is quite a different beast and IT IS AMAZING. It’s super fun to drive, highly responsive, and more agile than the newer versions. Plus, it doesn’t have the “sliding” behavior that some cars in the game seem to. I did a couple of races, and it seems like the AI handles it quite well, too. So, I’d like to use this post as a peaceful place where we set aside the frustration of waiting for the update and remember that we have a great game with tons of content in our hands, much of it probably we haven't squeezed yet. I figured there might be a bunch of people who didn't give a try to the stock 2019 as they deserve, thus there came the idea of this post and that is therefore my recommendation for you to try. I did a great race recently in Jacarepaguá 2005, real weather of some day in March 2019 (meaning, the soft tires get hot!), 40 min and 1 mandatory pit stop, and had one of the best races I ever had in the sim. So there it is my recommendation. I'd like to hear what is yours, so I and others can get ideas on what to try. Leave aside the "I won't play until the update comes out" stance. I see it all the time in gaming: no matter what we have, people are always just waiting for the next thing—the next DLC, the next update, and so on. Let’s relax, forget about all that, and just enjoy the game as it is. Back in the day, you bought a game, and that was it—strengths, flaws, and all. Let's get back there and just have a good time. Recreate a vintage endurance race at Monza 10k (with chicanes). There are recent mods to build a nice field but just the vanilla vintage gts are ok (vintage gts + gt 60s for a multiclass). The 911 RSR 3.0 is a blast, the corvette is faster but also requires to pit more often. I don't remember if I had x2 or x3 fuel consumption multiplier but in my 33 lap race the field finished shuffled.
My recommendation: Puma GTE on either Cascavel or Tarumã. Its one of my favourite cars in simracing at the moment and I believe many people will overlook it. Also, continue your Stock Car journey, the 1999 and 1986 ones are amazing too.
Just race with any simulator you like, waiting is a waste of energy and an illusion in the future, the future does not exist but "Now" and in the now you dare your life and enjoy. The update will come when it is ready, not before.
