This happens every time I use the game. I'm running a top of the line Alienware with a 4090, NLR motion platform, Fanatec DD2 with podium v2 F1 wheel with all software up to date. Playing AMS2 through steam. The game works like a dream until suddenly....boop, the whole wheel turns off and I crash. The wheel base is not hot/warm. If I power up the wheel base again, it'll work but THERE IS ZERO FFB. The only way for me to fix it is to reboot the computer, then everything works fine but by then I'm kicked out of our group race. This does not happen with iRacing, F1 23/24 or DirtRally 2.0 or FH5. It only happens with AMS2 so I have to think its a code bug.

Sounds very weird. Have you tried downloading a different Fanatec driver version?

I haven’t because it happened with the prior driver version and this current version. I didn’t go back three drivers back.

I dialed down my FFB settings and now can induce a crash and it doesn’t shut off. But then my son distracted me and lost control and the wheel went wild and that caused it to shut down. So I guess this could be a wheel base FFB overload problem. It’s interesting that no other game causes this issue though even when I had the wheel on 100% with those games. Interesting.

Either overheating or the psu is faulty. RMA asap.

So why then does it ONLY happen in AMS2…ONLY when I go off track and spin on the grass ….and I can intentionally cause this to happen now? While I agree that the wheel base is overloading and turning off, it’s something with the game coding that’s causing it. It doesn’t happen in any other game including iRacing, FH5, dirt rally 2.0, F1 23/24, ACC, AC

What FFB profile are you using? Default, Default+ or a Custom? Have you tried changing to a different one? I know Default has an issue that can really slam the FFB under certain circumstances. Don't recall what they were, someone else may remember. Good luck.

    I’m using default+
    Gain 25
    Low force boost 25
    Fx 50
    Damping 60
    Spring 10

    fanatec master FFB 70%
This seems to be working now. It hasn’t crashed the wheel for hours now.

As I understand it, with your base you shouldn't be using LFB. I have a much weaker base than yours and I leave that at 0.
