Anyone else having issue with only the wheel input not working after Alt tab since last update? It worked the day before the update and now I have to restart the game to get the wheel to work again. My main issue is there was a significant update to my Motion software recently and I’m having to remake all my profiles. I started doing so with no issues the day before the latest AMS2 update. Now I flat out can’t. If I make an adjustment in the motion software I have to restart the game. My only solution is go back to AC….again. I’m using a SimUCube 2 Pro with VR.
I did a clean win11 install today and now I'm facing the exact same issue. As soon as the game loses focus steering and ffb is completely dead. the wheel is detected in true drive though. were you able to fix it?
After some more testing, I realized the beta is working just fine. It's just the stable version causing this problem.
Bit the bullet and installed Windows again without any backups that could cause the bug. Installed AMS2 from Steam and configured also from scratch. No changes. Beta works Release version doesn't.
Is steam input deactivated over Automobilista 2 properties in the steam library? (under controller there)
good idea, but yes, it's deactivated. The wheel base is also working without any trouble in AC and DR2. It's just AMS2 that loses the connection. Windows Event History (not sure this is the right translation) also doesn't show any related errors... it's so weird...
Alright, I finally figured out what is happening but I don't have a solution yet. As soon as I map something for extra brake the wheel base loses steering and ffb when AMS2 loses focus. If I delete the mapping for extra brake (in the same session without restarting the game) and tab out and back in to AMS2 the steering is immediately back and ffb is working again. It doesn't matter if it's an analog input from a controller or a simple keyboard key mapped to extra brake, every mapping reproduces the behaviour and brakes the game.
