Hey mates, on Simracingsystem.com they have an app with rating running on assetto corsa and its great. They used to use an app on Automobilista but they stopped using it because there werent enough people racing online. Sooo, if we are many and we ask them to put the app work again, maybe we will be lucky. Lets write in this section of the forum for them to pay attention to us http://www.simracingsystem.com/showthread.php?tid=304&page=10
of course we want! lets make it real! We are enought but we are in different racing communities, we need to unite ourselves and shout. SRS could make a 2018 present for us!
Before we talk about a rating system we need to talk about online activity. If there's nobody to race against there's no need for a rating system. But even with a rating system and an online community it doesn't change the fact that all sims except iRacing fail at being more than just racing games. iRacing is basically a racing RPG, and that's it's secret. You start as a weakling without access to the big toys and have to prove first that you are able to race cleanly before being allowed to advance. So, basically you don't need a rating system at all, what you want is drivers who have the required skill to drive the cars they are sitting in. Have everybody start in something slow and sturdy on a track that's not complicated. Lancer R on Cascavel That's your entry to multiplayer racing. For a few races. In which you have to avoid crashing and wrecking. But ya, that requires lots of people online and that's the reason why iRacing is king. Sadly there is no other way. You need to teach and punish people - and as long as AMS isn't forcing players into such a process a rating system is utterly useless.
Take a look how many people use this app with Assetto Corsa. Did you drive there? So tell me, this people went to a racing school to do clean races?
It isnt all about rating, I dont care how many point I have, I want people racing on my favorite sim with a system that we dont have and attracts people to compite. SRS is a fully system automated and works 24/7 with races every hour, meaning that all server settings, race results, standings, ratings etc. are automated.
i dont wanna continue this sim battle, each one race in which sim he likes. The real fact is that a rating system is useful and SRS is agreat platform, and Automobilista is a great simulator. And when we are enought racers for SRS it would be a pleasure to race in SRS. Cheers!
I dont like SRS massive focus on modern high end race cars in AC and I dont have high hopes their choices in AMS would be any better. Still, id welcome SRS and would join if they offered something interesting. Disagree about iRacing model being the only way MP can work. For a start the cars you progress to are less enjoyable for the most part (IMO) and... back when I was playing atleast, the non official server list was very difficult to sort through. I like the community approach to MP myself. I ran ALOOG1 server on AC for a couple of years and when you have quite a few regulars it can work really well.
Sad but true. Not enough drivers on AMS. AMS drivers did not use SRS, so it's easy: SRS discontinued support for AMS. You got RaceDepartment though... Not rating system in there but fun races. Also, R3E rating system is close every day. And Reiza keeps their new sim in secret, let's wait to see if it includes rating system, who knows.
There's no way i could bring more people into AMS and therefore there's nothing constructive i can bring on the table. SRS works in AC because at any time there are 500 to 1000 times more players in AC than in AMS. Reiza17 has to have a rating system, but more important it needs graphics that attract people and GT3 on famous F1 tracks.
yep RD, leagues and you also could try our "AUTOMOBILISTA Unofficial" dicord (only for ams racers) for quick races: https://discord.gg/kpFDPKX , one week and we are more than 75 . Every ams lover is wellcome!.
Where is the people who talked about online drivers on AMS/SRS??? I'd like to hear you now NEVER GIVE UP
