Yes, they don't affect stability that's why most have no problem with them.
I'm not sure, on some onboard videos I have seen them or something similar. But maybe I am wrong, don't know...

Hmm you're right actually, I think they had the buttons on the curbing a few years ago. Doesn't seem like the current Spa has them though.

Thanks for the link, I eat my words then!
Its strange that they're in some videos from 2020 but not others.

Kerbs are not static permanent objects. Tracks change them sometimes. Especially when Formula One is near the schedule, they often go crazy to "grade one" the sh** out of their tracks. :D

I'm sitting here thinking when did AMS2 get that Lotus Exige.
It's getting so you can't tell game footage from real world footage.:(
And I couldn't be happier about it.:)

After the bus stop there is a significant left hander that brings you over the start line probably that corner is able to generate again enough delta torque between wheels to open again the diff? If you add the line of the steering input to your graphs you should be able to see where that occurs.

You are right so maybe AMS2 could be smart enough to know what vehicle I have selected to enable/disable them. Most categories don't use them including GT3.

My preference is to not have them as they don't allow me to attack the curb as much and I mainly run high powered vehicles. I also wonder If they will damage the tyre over a long stint.. I also think they look silly.

But then again who cares what I think.. :)

But seeing pretty high downforce cars bouncing over curbs on their balloon like tyres makes it hard to enjoy these cars

The higher the curbs the more problems the AI will have, especially in openwheelers or low riding cars. There are some tracks in AMS2 where you can observe this behavior (80s and 90s version of Hockenheim, Silverstone and Adelaide)

it depends on the series that is driven on a track.
e.g. at Red Bull Ring sousage kerbs get installed when Formula one is here, some weeks later for Moto GP all of that are dismounted again.
As you can see on following picture, you can simply unscrew them

Same at Monza. They add or remove high kerbs and dissuaders depending on the series that is visiting

Damage model though seems about right seeing how many pieces got smashed around the track :D
Jokes apart yes AI seems to have some issues understanding that high kerbs are a no no no.
Jacarepagua' is also in the list of difficult tracks

Interesting, even the paint on some parts of the track is changed !
My "problem" with AMS2 compared to reality and even other sims is the pit wall.
There are just a few guys there on every track.
You are doing a race against 20 AIs and the pit wall looks like you are on a practice day, you and a couple of other guys.
I know Spa is still being worked on but the pit wall looks the same in other tracks also.
Below in the pictures you can see how different the pits look in a DTM serie.

And once more, the ride is quite a bouncy affair... To the point of really affecting the balance of the car.

From around 4:20 or so, Tiff even mentions the "pogoing"...
I'm loving the latest slew of content and fixes. Feels spot on the dot to me.

To be honest not only I agree that race cars are bouncy in general and some even more bouncy than others, but I will add that for me the legacy view is much more realistic and gives more of a natural sense of the car moving. The fixed horizon version for my personal taste does increase the sense of the car unnaturally bouncing because the fixed horizon is unnatural in the first place.
I know it's totally subjective but for me other than VR users everyone should use the legacy view if they want the car movement to feel more realistic IMHO. Eventually mitigating a bit the shakiness of the view with the slider for adjustment.

I use the "leagacy" view from beginning of the BETA,tried the "new" view and can't decide wich is better for me now.
Wich settings do you use in legacy view now?

All stock settings Legacy + slider at 20. Also I drive with cockpit view NOT helmet view. I am assuming it may make a lot of difference?

What I mean to say is that the non legacy IMO may stress less the eye, but at the expense of adding and amplifying much more to the visual feeling of bounciness of the car and related visual oddities to a ridiculous level.
Iracing also is using fixed horizon and the car dances oddly beneath the players sight as well.
