Hello, what are your optimized settings for AMS2 with fanatec csw 2.5?
especially with Karsten Hvidberg's ffb file?

I think it would be the "kerbs_surface_scale"?
Do you really feel that too harsh in v42?
I think maybe you're running the fanatec settings pretty hard, but I am not really familiar with them so I am sorry I won't be able to shed a light there.

Unf. we don't have any official optimized values for that wheel base currently.
It would be good to have.
Also it will depend on the car you drive, simple starting point for gt3 could be:

    gain: 30
    lfb: 5
    fx: 50
    damping: 50

Try using both mid & high level file.
I suspect the high level file is best for your base.

    Good information.
We're correcting the file further & will post a v43 within the next few days, I think. Should include these changes to make it more DD1/DD2 friendly for both games.
Depends on spare time available, as usual :)

yeah, I want to use the full range of the FFB in the DD2. so I rather lower the gain in the game.

    (kerb_bump_scale 0.30)
    (track_bump_scale 0.2)
    (offroad_bump_scale 0.1)
    (details_smoothing 1.0)
    (kerbs_surface_scale 0.6)

I've done the following adjustments for my DD1:
(kerb_bump_scale 0.25) #Less harsh high kerbs, but softened rumble strips
(kerbs_surface_scale 1.0) #To bring rumble strips back up
This is with in-game gain at 40, Fanatec FFB at 75%. McLaren GT3 at Spa.

High speed mistakes over big kerbs still gives me a solid jolt, which it should, but going slightly over high kerbs now doesn't feel like it will shake my rig to bits ;)

    Very happy with this :)

This is not ams2 related but in PC2, I had to set (kerbs_surface_scale 0.3) otherwise the DD2 will jolt like crazy over the kerbs at 1st gear around 10mph, It feels like a earthquake. Now all the kerbs jolt is fixed after changing the surface scale value to .3 in PC2. The only issue I'm having is when you slow the car down in a complete stop from 15mph to 0mph, the steering wheel would oscillate like crazy if you don't put both hands gripping it. it's like 0 to100% FFB.

Ok, great, thanks GTR, I will make sure to bring these changes over with the next release.
Will have to look at the cause of those oscillations on braking.
Hopefully it will be working well for most across all wheel bases with these modifications in place 8)

I just tested it in AMS2 with the McLaren 720 in 1st gear, 0-15mph and 15-0mph with no hands, it does the something. But that's something we can live with I guess. How often do we completely let go of the wheel while the car is moving lol.

other than that, both custom FFB works like a dream with the kerb trim.

You should get paid by reizastudio for polishing their games!

I have tried everything and I am getting frustrated. I now have the .42 Silver raw file but for me it is missing the same information the default ffb is missing. The sense of weight transfer basically during the whole cornering process is very bland. The wheel gets heavier but really stays at one weight. I'm not all too bothered about that part but what drives me nuts is the dead wheel feeling on corner exit.
In a GT3 car it's no big deal but in a car with no TC when I am coming out of a corner there is literally no indication of what the car is doing, so in a car like the Super V8 I find myself having to see-saw the wheel and wait for a visual clue to see if the car is going to snap one way or another.

Is there any setting I can change to get information specifically on initial corner exit? There is no information at all right now and I have tried every combination of Gain/LFB/FX and Damping that I can think of.

    Appreciate any feedback.

I started tweaking the .42 for the G920. Seems great for actually being able to control the car with useful info. Just one issue I'm having is, if I turn up the LFB more than about 28, I get too much wheel oscillations, because I like a lighter grip on the wheel. If Karsten could point me in the right direction, it would be good. Current in game settings are 65/28/48/50.

BTW: The in game widget numbers are not displayed in the same order as they appear in the menu order. Hope there's a way to fix that.

What setting within the custom FFB file is to reduce the grainy road texture? when going down the straight, the road surface is very pronounced even when I turn the FX to 0 and FEI setting to 70% within fanalab. so I figure it must be the road surface detail with the micro bumps. It feel a bit like I have some sand within the motor while turning or going in a straight. it's not the bumps on the surface, but just a mirco grinding feel when turning or on a straight. I would love to set that value off or lower if possible. please point me to the right direction.

I’ve been planning to play with this next time I’m on pc.
My theory is it’s the scrub feeling, even when on straight.
Experiment with scrub scale reduction, and also increases in scrub frequency scale. I’ve found in the past with old scrub system that my wheel doesn’t like the micro oscillation in the feedback. increases in frequency helped smooth the wave of signal.

In v42 it should be the "texture_scale" ,if it is the texture.
Was this not an issue in v41?
I ask since I changed the way the texture is done between the 2 versions, so if it's much better in v41 I know which direction to take it.

Are you using tightening in file ? If you are I would try not having it active.

If you have wheel oscillations it's usually caused by having to much force around center.
So you can decrease either the gain or the lfb.
    Did you try Kuku's advice?

To be honest, I haven’t used v41 because of the kerb jolt. Now that I know how to trim down the jolt with the kerb, let me test this out and report back.
