Noticed what you described in the Imola's GT3 Championship race. A porsche AI was trying to pass me everywhere, matching and even exceeding my speed on certain parts of the track at which I'm faster than the AI in normal conditions. I even was posting consistent lap times at around the same times I do when racing without competition nearby.

When eventually he passed me, he started lapping at the "normal" AI speed, so I was able to pass he again, but this time I managed to build a 1.5 secs gap and this AI guy didn't engage "rage mode" again.

Another thing I noticed on that same race is the rest of AI cars battle in groups of two to four cars all the race, going side by side by two and even three cars sometimes, taking impossible race lines without losing speed, so those two or three AI cars battling all the time together didn't loose any time, which it would be the contrary due to the multi lap fights between them.

Other than that, the AI behaviour was clean and the race was very enjoyable from start to end.

This race was with AI strenght at 100% and aggression at 90% BTW.

Same here: GT1s @ 100% strength and 90% aggression at Kyalami.
It's definitely improved compared to earlier versions but they still seem to enter a different mode and get additional speed every time the player is inside a certain range.

AMS2 AI have always suffered from the issue of being fast and competitive when in front of you, and completely giving up the ghost once you've passed them. A few patches ago the AI received some changes to make them not drop back immediately once you pulled level with them, and now they do indeed seem to break the laws of physics in order to make this happen. Particularly with holding impossible speed and grip on the outside of the player through turns, or passing on the inside and seemingly being unaffected by kerbs/grass. I appreciate that AI is a particularly involved and ongoing issue, and it seems to cycle through enjoyable and less enjoyable as development proceeds. At the moment I put it in the less enjoyable category and am doing a lot of hotlapping :)

It's been a rather quiet month on the forum from Reiza, hopefully that mean they have been doing great things with the Ai and this next update will bring nice QOL additions.

Quiet month ?? You mean quiet week. When you develop stuff, sometimes it is best to remain quiet for a while.

    Yeah, fully agree.
If a developer is quiet means he is working concentrated, thinking, developing and will create something big!
If he has time to argue, either he has finished his work and is bluffing or does not know what to do or where to start.
So, the more quiet they are, the better it would be:whistle:

Just wait, this week is end of month, means a next surprise maybe;)

Yep, AI needs more work. Did the Nurburbring 24h GT3 race, and it's weird to watch AIs driving side by side almost the entire lap in such a narrow, slippery and dangerous track. AI go full speed two wide even in the very fast turns when there is only one race line you can take flat out.

It's funny to watch them go on the outside, flat side, at the Carrousell without loosing speed.

I tried the same race with aggression at 100% and 5%, things didn't change much, they still race impossible lines, go over curbs and grass, without upsetting the car or loosing speed, but at 5% they don't try to kill you while trying to pass you, they are a little more "gentleman" than at 100%, but the "catch the player up rage mode" is still present.

Noooo! Do not make that unfortunate mistake?! Please...
It could easily be another week, or even two.
Terrorize some more tarmac, and forget what day it is, then before you know it...
Renato has tried providing basic time frames for previous updates, and has gotten little more than utter grief in return. People were yelling and screaming about it being late, then had the nerve to complain about the quality of said content.
People want new content, but also for the existing stuff to be improved upon.
I also want these things, but realize the time-consuming nature of this endevour. Do not forget how long it takes for certain other dev teams to finally get around to 'fixing' known issues.
I apologize for the rant there... Just do not want you to get your hopes up about the date of the monthly update, so to speak.
Personally I'd rather Reiza work quietly in the background, and release things when deemed ready.
Can hardly wait for Group C...
