Reiza, can I just ask, what have you done to the Lotus 79 ? it used to be great, it's not anymore.

    At least city lost.

Damn, you have to be more specific and provide more details. Did you deleted or backup you setups first?

Not sure how I feel about this, because it seems to me that the behaviour in slow corners has gone more towards HEAVY-understeer-snap-oversteer again (at least it felt that way in the BT46). That's of course something we can expect from these cars to a point, but it feels more like it did before the differential changed - just with the F-Retro Gen1, which remain fine (except for extreme tracks like Adelaide, but that feels believable).

Also, the Brabham BT46 has issues with speed sensitivity (I'm driving on pad). I can only turn in at around 70° at sharp corners, while I can do around 110° with basically any other car. That's the same issue the Formula Classics have, too.

This might also be the cause of or at least contribute to what I think to be a problem with a differential.

On another note, AI are still too slow on the straights in the dry and too quick out of slow corners (at least with the Formula Retro/Vintage, and except for the last corners at Kyalami and Interlagos 1976, they're not great out of those). In heavy rain, especially with old cars, they completely destroy me on every straight, because they can go full throttle where I'm barely daring to do half-throttle.

Don't even start with this again...:p

This high-revving, menacing Italian scream-machine of a car... I hope the license thing is true?!

Having great fun with the Fancar, thanks Reiza!

If we're going down this route, maybe the 155 could be a good excuse for adding Super Touring cars too? I think this era of the BTCC would be a neat addition to the existing British content.
On the topic of the update though, great job Reiza! The BT46 feels great and the various improvements are appreciated

How fast is the fan car compared to the Lotus 79? It should be much much faster if they decided to stay true to the original

Oh man, if not, I hope these guys are going the historic route as well... There is an undertow of immense, underestimated, unwavering popularity and sentiment toward this era, I believe.

Interesting.....new Sim doing BTCC using the rF2 engine?? Surely they won't just do a single class.

I have been somewhat distracted by flight simming of late so have not played AMS2 for a while. Just took the Fan car and Lotus 79 for a spin around Spielberg historic '74 in VR.

What fantastic fun this is. I don't know if the handling is accurate or not but I personally am loving both cars. Big shout out to Rieza for providing the options to play something different instead of the usual cookie cutter GT3 Nordschleife love fest.

Oh man, I would love a 70s version of this track. The historic F1 cars and historic F1 tracks from Reiza are just an absolute joy.

Gotta keep those revs higher in the slow corners...you will get amazing suction if you do.

It's faster than the Lotus for sure. When you keep the rpm up, it feels like infinite stability and downforce.^^

This, so much. I play mostly F1, championships and all, but from time to time I love booting AMS to take some of the different machines for a spin - might go for a full stock car season along with the real thing starting this month, too.

In the meantime im playing a league in ACC with friends and, honestly, GT3s are Nürburgring are such a cookie cutter thing indeed. AMS2 still has a long way to go in several small details here and there, but the experience of driving something different somewhere different, or doing silly stuff like "FTruck vs modern F1 car at classic Kyalami" is just priceless.
