I'm sure I heard that it's going more hardcore as well somewhere. But here's a recent 3rd party update video:

Info is surprisingly hard to find given how big the Forza brand is. I think if it still has car upgrading it'll be a fun game for sure. The Motorsport games (not to be confused with Horizon!) have always had a nice simulation underneath. They've just used it for a GT-like career concept with nicer sounds IMO. Online has been absolute carnage with rammers, but it was never about online for me.

    Oh no! Stay safe mate.

I think we start to lose sanity, most of us here probably spends more time on this forum and steam dlc page than in the game xD

I'd really want to like Forza Motorsport but every time I try it I just bounce off. The physics isn't sim nor arcade, I'm not able to enjoy it either on gamepad nor wheel, it is so strange. I love Horizon 4, it is probably my favourite go-to gamepad racing game and I thought that FM7 would be a good simcade for my liking, but it isn't. Even the career is lacking IMO. I hope FM8 will change something in the area of physics, but I don't think it will change it dramatically, as it is still aimed for a wide simcade audience.

And to clarify again - I do really like arcade racing titles (I'm spending too much time on Trackmania and FH4 lol), but physics must feel engaging and be understandable

no...no ... you've got to listen to reason, man! Kuku... escape now! Don't wait by the computer, phone or any other device. Get out now while you still can!

Others can tell you how the dlc and patch are...um... at some point...

Oh I am sorry and it did yes. I do run into a trouble when I try to explain complex things and my words or descriptions do not suffice to do so. I go back to edit and try to keep the spirit of the post.

I promise you though I did laugh several times due to your joke and the whole situation. So it was funny definitely, thanks. The other problem of course is that things were definitely heading south for me very fast lol and I had so much text to simplify to drive a positive less convoluted message I was also feeling about the news/the patch.

No disrespect meant but great news, thank you very much. Close the door after yourself as you leave and enjoy AC.

I didn't realize this guy was leaving?

Mate if Forza 8 is anything special I will eat my hat. Its not going to work like AMS2 works. The physics in forza 7 were dire for a reason, its not meant to be a simulator nor could they achieve such a thing even if they tried back then. I highly doubt the business model allows for forza 8 to be a simulator of any sort. It may push a few boundaries and improve in a lot of areas but it won't be on the same level as the sims racing games - you will still need more than one product into the distant future. I personally can't play other sims much any more, its really 90-10 ams2, and I can see why others would love forza because its really good and kind of what I would do with horizons or F1 2019 (they're largely all the same those), but it won't come near a real sim - instead it will just be real nice in other ways. It won't be the kind of fun those people want if they change it. It may be more legit - and having more to it, in terms of progression etc, they will dev for that and not for the sim - thats just jargon so they don't fall off a cliff into obscurity/move with the times.

Its meant to have licenses, a brand name, and a bunch of cars doing "cool" things to the 'rule of cool' not the rule of normal. Its definitely a graphics first simulator.

When you look for feedback and you see someone in the comments of forza 8 saying "oooH! I wish it was more a sim!"

    LOL! He doesn't mean that...

Thats what he thinks he wants [to keep his fun levels high].

The interpretation becomes he is an outlier. And even if you did give him a sim (on his gamepad! come on...) he wouldn't like it. Its like those guys who say they want real sword fighting, then despise it. Its not fun to them - they just didn't know it - then how does one make it fun and not a sim, etc, how does one 'dev' a system for that. So those kinds of wants unless its tediously slow and incremental never happen much.

I would go as far as to say if anyone online said Forza 8 was going to go for a hardcore sim, they would be talking rubbish. The people who buy it don't want that.

A connoisseur like steelcast, and for heavens sake people - look at the guys work on the warship game haha - is not going to call the patch "AMS 2.0" for no reason.

We're talking about a company that refuses to sell you Forza horizon 3 anymore (lucky I bought it for cheap with expansion for cheap) because its not good for revenue/licensing cost over time> up sell you to the same game essentially in forza horizon 4. Mind you 3, is almost like 4, which I had too for a while on gamepass and not windows store when I was looking into that, and forza 7 v 8 will follow the same crud and be a graphics update more likely than anything. They won't be changing the formula too much in the space of a few years.

If anyone is saying forza 8 is going hardcore sim, I think they might be misunderstanding a quote or something not sure but no way would I believe that. I do know a lot of the feedback on forza 7 (and its SO FUNNY) was that the physics were lame and it was showing its age and all that jazz. That if you put it up against the lowly AC, that it definitely loses its gloss. Up against AMS2 1.2 I am going to suppose (so its supposition and I am sorry for that) forza 8 even would look bad by comparison in terms of what a car should be doing. Thats the lasting impression, but they won't be doing magic physics because of that - they will be branding and selling it slightly differently via marketing, mate. Its being made for PS5/xbox, not a core i9 or AMD 3000, 5000 etc. They would want you to think its "going to be more complex" cos...ya know - "ps5 is sooo revolutionary".

Its just a cut back amd with a sub 3k graphics card and a slightly different way of loading graphics into memory, which who would have thought that would be a feat in 2021 (to be sub $3k).

So no game play loop, less credits and flash, less acceleration, less dopamine, and no excess reward. Thats not good for that studio.

I just right now deleted PCARS2 to have enough SSD space for the 20Gig AMS2 update.

Yeah, it can certainly be easy to misunderstand the intent of a post, especially with so many different levels of understanding of English.
