I am a bit puzzled about the silence on Race Department regarding the AMS2 news.

Joining all the awesome positive cheering for this update!
Really hyped now and hoping it's the beginning of a tipping point to more online races!! But even if not it still could be exciting! The sound improvements alone would've made me buy the dlc!

G57 was supposed to be an LMP2 but it more towards the older version like the older Oreca 05. It was due to politics between the ACO and Ginetta that it never raced as an LMP2. They were also not selected as chassis builder for LMPh.

It was officially raced as a LMP3 around the world, the LMP2 version just lived on as an expensive track car for rich people. That is why Pcars has this odd LMP car in a class full of track day cars like P1 GTR. Until Brazil Endurance has one running in P1, ignoring the upgraded versions in LMP1.

Because the M6 was supposed to be the flagship sportscar for the BMW brand back in 2016, and you usually don't want to put a lower level model into your highest tier of racing, and DTM was a sales tool for the 3 Series, Audi A4 and MB C-Class.

The M8 road car wasn't introduced until 2019, and the M8 GTE was supposed to create a lot of demand for that car, but for a variety of reasons, the M8 GTE never lived up to expectations.

As engine displacements get smaller and turbos become more popular, perhaps the M4 will be the focal point for the M lineup, until some kind of Hypercar M8 or M10 is developed.

Also, the audience/fan base for GT3 has changed a lot since 2014. I think it's smart for BMW to use both GT3 and GT4 as a marketing platform, as well as the super fun M2 race series.

I remember when they introduced the M4 to GT4, thinking how odd it was to not use that car in GT3. Instead they used that quirky Z4 and then the M6. I still believe that the M3 was the best they ever had. Lets hope the M4 can step in to those big shoes.

Probably just being late as usual (unless it is ACC the main sim on their "new" racing portal with an already existing name taken from another community portal) or planning to discuss about the new update the 4th July...

Paul does a lot of work directly for S397, and they have not pinned the latest rF2 news yet either.

Just tons of news out in the past 5 days.

It's a lot easier and cheaper to evolve a road car into a GT4 than it is to race-build a competitive GT3. John Watson used to say you could walk into a dealership and buy something similar to a GT3 but he's changed that tune now and he calls them purpose-built race cars (which they are) and has switched to calling the GT4s "road cars with aero".

I think the Z4 was a great choice for a GT3 - so different and iconic, like the Nissan GT-R and the Bentley. The M3 GT2 was an absolute legend. I still love driving that car in AC and a decent mod of it in rF2.

Still hope that AMS2 will be getting new manufacturers. I would love to have Ford or Aston Martin to the car list.

And since a modern FWD low power TC Cup series is missing, and with VW already on board... what about the Up! Cup based on the VW UP! GTI.

    FAHRZEUG | Tourenwagen Junior Cup

Contrary to most other sims, AMS2 is able to produce a good driving sensation for low powered cars... just think about the 1960's Mini Cooper.

Both have their competitive advantages: the M8 can just crush any competition in its way and the M4 can blind anyone in front with the sheer ugliness of its grille :p

The BMW Z4 GT3 is my favourite of the recent Beemers. Apart from its "1940s b&w film" proportions, it also made a terrific noise:

Beside dirt-build up on cars (I hope it will work better now and the cars aren't washed by magic hands during a race :)) , are there any plans for dirt-build up on windshield or visor?
Would be a nice feature for future.
And with seasons, windshield or visor have to be iced if it is wet in winter...
