What are the preferred/suggested Fanatec settings for the lower end/gear driven wheels?

FFB settings on DEFAULT + for Thrustmaster Wheels (the stronger ones like T-GT or TS-PC)
    From Domagoj Loviric (Beta Forum):

    In game:
    Gain 75 ( i use 60 on TS-PC)
    LFB 10-20 (I use 15 on TS-PC)
    FX 50
    Damping 50.

That works well for me. T-GT should be "similar in strength" as the TS-PC (afaik both have "turbo" power supply).
Mybe useful for other TM users:)

I just did two races in the Stock Car and Formula Trainer and the AI were a joy to race against, and also to observe racing each other! I was approaching it with trepidation for reasons historically known and none of those issues were present. I wont list them suffice to say that I was immersed, and for the first time in a long time I raced to the end in both races and felt good about it :)
Its definitely getting there and if a career mode is still on the cards then although it might be a substantial wait, Im looking forward to that very much!

Question concerning Force Feedback parameter “Damping”:
What does it? Is it correct that “Damping = zero” is best for old wheels like my Logitech G27 because otherwise the damping would dampen all other effects on such a cheap wheel with low forces?

I found this post very useful. Its a few pages back on this thread :)

I found on my old G920 a small degree of damping helped, but as FFB is so very subjective its really not my place to suggest anything at all.

I think the term Damper or how it’s described as dampening is misleading to many.
I think there’s a misconception that it’s function is just to smooth or reduce forces.

but it needs to be thought of like a suspension damper.

you need some strength in a suspension damper to add resistance to movement, but also strength to the motion of the spring.

so when applied to our ffb , adding damper will add to the weight needed to compress or move the wheel, but also will add resistance to the forces acting against the wheel.

so just like a suspension on a car, too much damper strength will make it less likely travel up and down over bumps, which gives the impressions of less details in ffb because it’s not using full movement., but if you have it too soft it will not have resistance to slow movement and will feel very light or easy to compress.

so there’s a balance to be found in the middle.
You need the damper to add weight to the ffb, and you then need to increase the strength of the details through Fx and Lfb to so that they are strong enough to compress the damper.

It’s not a case of being a wuss because you are dampening down the details, which I think is what many believe.

I only used the F-Ultimate in single player, custom championship, and my experience in the first 5 full races was just the opposite, i.e. I can use and abuse the softs for at least 25/30 laps minimum on some tracks, and for a full race at others (50 laps race at Jerez with chicane for example, I and the AI didn't need to pit for rubber, without any perceived pace loss even with severe tyre wear as shown in the widget)

Is it possible your league was running accelerated tyre wear? That's the only way I can set up something similar to real F1 and introduce some sort of tyre strategy on long races.

Hi Kim, yes I posted an extensive report about my findings running a custom F1 Ultimate championship on the AI thread some weeks ago (before 1.3 patch). Thanks for the suggestion tough.

Not only because "dampening" means "to make something moist". ;)

Fair point. I don't believe so, but they could've had accelerated wear on. It's been a few months, but I distinctly remember everybody ran the hards during the race because the softs dropped off in a few laps.

Still, without accelerated wear, the softs drop peak performance within 1-2 laps and will bleed 2-3 tenth increments every few laps. I did a lot of TT and quali sessions with the soft tyre and noticed it's only good for 1 push lap. Past that the tire overheats and it'll become unstable.

    A real classic:D
And maybe a historic, 1960s layout would be nice.

Tbh a quick Google shows its only available on steam (willing to be corrected on this)
So either buy from steam or take your chances with a key for "steam"
