Oh my god, are you really gonna act like a delay in AMS2 development is some news, a big shock, a huge disappointment? Have you learned nothing over the past 1,5 years? It releases when it releases.

So you want them to delay the release even further by making videos. What is the point of that?

No, it would make sense if some footage is released that reiza are the ones releasing it, to at least ensure some form of quality, and with this i dont mean whats released isn't good quality

Personally I just feel a bit more communication wouldn't go a miss .
Love this SIM and want it to succeed as much as anyone but am getting a little tired of the constant speculation about whether it will or won't be updated at a particular date ! Why not literally drop a quick post , just a couple lines will do saying it's not happening today or tomorrow and then we can all carry on with our other business safe in the knowledge .

It's the Chinese New Year Sale on Steam. Generally there is little developer activity during these sales periods, which is normal.

For myself 1 reason at least to not. Between the posted vid today and January 31st there will be further improvements.
ie.There is a good reason my vid has no gen 3 retro preview
Most vids I post are in beta & unlisted to illustrate clear faults as has been the case this week, amongst the hundreds of other Beta tester's feedback posts and currently being addressed.
Vid was posted public for a change without obvious faults, apart from my driving:). (not driven R.A for 3 years) Not posted to cause offence or cause controversy,
Devs have enough on their plate with delays in beta tests, track release's cars faults/setups,ai,graphics,physics etc.
Any delays in beta & main are for good reason as we know and we shall see. Soon

Theres some pretty bug key points that some forum members seem to gloss over in there efforts to just defend every action made by reiza whether its good or bad.
Content thats supposed to have been released by now, yet isnt, also no public communication as to whether or not it will be today or delayed really isnt good enough.
People have paid for content, thats supposed to be here and isnt. Now before anyone starts firing shots at me, do me a favour, go to the steam discussions pages, grab a coffee and have a read. Post after post is more and more people getting upset they've purchased certain dlc etc, only to find its not available yet.
Public communications need to be stepped up, if something is going to be delayed, let us know.. that alone will stop a lot of people jumping onto social media outlets and making reiza look bad.. which is a massive point here.. Theres so many people complaining about release times, delays, already paid for dlc not being out yet etc that its making reiza and ams2 look bad, meaning fewer sales, therefore fewr racers for us all to race against.

I love this sim probably more than most others out there, i personally bring new players to the game every week. ive even purchased the game from my pocket to give to people to get more people into ams2.. so the fact is, i love the game and everything im saying in the best interest of it.

    what we need.....
    More updates to the public.
More interaction with streamers that actually stream the game regulary
More promotion for Youtubers and streamers via social media
Less people just defending reiza regardless of whats actually happening, you need to see the bad and the good and be able to comment on each instead of just defending everything, the game needs it.
Bug list updates, for example, a list from reiza with bugs currently being worked on, ones fixed in next update etc

I can totally understand people wondering where the new gt3/4/1 cars are etc too, very soon is within a month or two at most to most of us.. and yes i know, licencing can be a pain etc this is why more public communication is needed. just tell us, nissan for example is taking longer than expected, hoping to having it all sorted by feb..

Lastly, i see too many people here shooting down those that are dissapointed with how things have gone lately and i really dont think thats fair, especially given the last 3 months . try to have some empathy for all people.. im pretty dissapointed in the last 3 months and im one of AMS2 and reiza's biggest fans...

That would be a very welcome plan for future releases. S397 are quite good at that, and it'll give Reiza a chance to rebuild some trust levels with the community going into 2022.

There definitely needs to be more communication from Reiza. Renato's monthly updates are great, but it would be nice to get more insight into their update schedule. We have no idea whether the update is coming tomorrow, next week, or next month at this point.

I'm genuinely not trying to stir anyone or anything up here, but perhaps my comments might make people rethink their views:

...unless you have insight into Reiza's internal processes, then really it's speculation, but I'd suspect it may be due to the internal decision-making process not having been completed (about which content is or isn't ready) and that could be due to any number of reasons - like awaiting final feedback on a last minute update for a car that was being considered for release, or attempting to squeeze in more testing time on some content, or having an automated process in progress and holding off on making an announcement until that had finished etc. Or it could be that the staff that make public announcements are too busy with the current development work (e.g.: the sprint cycle for this piece of development hasn't been completed, as it may end reasonably close to the release time and date - particularly if the process required for the release is short in duration).

...no offence, but that logic doesn't really make sense and sounds more like - "if someone else has got it, why can't I have it too ?".
Content that's in a beta state and being used by beta testers is, by definition, not in a production state. I appreciate that some game developers over the last probably 10 years have gotten people conditioned to the idea that games are often released in effectively a test state (with ongoing fixes and updates), but personally I'd prefer to wait until all test cycles have been completed on a game and then enjoy a product that's much more refined, rather than pushing content out the door to users in a beta state. Doesn't it make more sense to let the beta testers experience the majority of the issues ?
...when we're dealing with a game with as much content as AMS 2, I really don't see the issue of waiting for new content to be properly tested and finished.

heres the thing, regardless of what happens behind closed doors, it takes seconds in this day and age to let your consumer base know whats happening...and that a lot more important than it seems people realise.

After reading some of the posts in here and in Steam forums I wonder how people would react if for Racin' USA pt3 Reiza decides to not release the DLC until all content in it is ready.

They should hire a Pr, no doubt. The wheel must spindle every day, in this "Social sick" society. All day thinking and producing content for diferent plataform. I dont like it at all, but is how it is...

    Lol
i see the pre update madness has set in.
fuelled by teasing of beta info and videos that i believe probably shouldn’t be released, as i thought that was frowned upon unless the update is literally crossing the magic internet highway.

from my point of view , the update isn’t even late yet. and i’m a day ahead of most.

I would imagine that's what they'll do from now on. Once the '95 cars are out the door and they push out classic Spa and Nurburgring they will probably not need or want to split a single DLC again (I don't mean pt1/pt2 but breaking the parts down further like they are currently).

They didn't have a choice other than to limit the scope of the DLCs and everyone should be glad about that but people like to complain (mostly because of the missing communication everyone has rightly pointed out). However, I can't see them doing that again. For example, if they do release Le Mans, that will come with classic versions either at release or they won't mention it at all based on the criticism they got from Spa/Nurburgring.

However...I don't think any of this matters much at this point. In a month Grid Legends will release and that is going to grab attention for a week (comparisons to PC3 and Grid 2019, how is the story mode received, how is crossplay, etc.) until the behemoth GT7 releases a week later. That's going to take up attention for a few weeks (specifically for the YouTubers not sim racers themselves, meaning complaint videos about AMS2 won't get as many clicks for them as a GT7 video). That's going to buy Reiza some time to polish things further. I know I'm looking forward to comparison videos of GT7 vs AMS2 AI, especially when ovals get added.

Yeah all that madness can be prevented by a short message from reiza every now and then with a bit of info

Yes, and then you guys pick even the faintest update schedule apart, nagging on why this and that has not been released. Speculating, throwing hands in the air, demanding answers, etc. This is exactly why they are not released.
