Because when the music is integrated into the game, it feels like the sound is coming from the car. i am talking VR...i don't know what you're playing with.

At least in my cars, the music comes from a blue tooth connected smartphone and plays from the dashboard and left and right doors. Maybe thats also a solution for the "pretend to be" AMS2 car.

When I turn the key, it starts to play this:

I suspect Fittipaldi was more capable of handling the car when it was set-up in the hard core manner as you describe. The AMS 2 default set-ups are attempting to make the car a bit easier to drive out-of-the-box to suit less skilled drivers, especially in this sort of car where even the street versions were difficult to handle. Very easy to adjust to a racier set-up if you prefer.

At least AMS2 lets us "tune" one of the most modifiable cars in the world in any way we like, inside the RL parameters. But a standard 915/68 74 E (US Carrera) gearbox would have been the better choice for a default.

Although the F309 is a formula car, it doesn't mean that it has the type of DF for being fully planted at all times.

Formula cars slide, even F1. I'm always perplexed when people state otherwise. Tires have max traction when they are sliding up to about 10%. The tires squealing is an indication that you are in this range. The squeal you hear is the rubber physically stretching. "Max grip" is within the stretch window because while stretching, the rubber is essentially adding a "pulling" effect. If you want to be fast you have to be at max traction, therefore you must be...sliding.

Unlike the more advanced Formulas like the Ultimate and Reiza, which are more "pinned" so to speak, the 309 is affected more by mechanical grip as well and therefore mechanical loading will change the grip characteristics front to rear despite the aero.

**note: simply packing on more aero will mitigate this mechanical effect, but you are making a sacrifice.

The 309 is a formula starter car, which should be treated as if it is teaching you a skill set. If you go up the chain of open wheelers, Vees, Trainers, F3's etc. They are each teaching you something that you can apply to the next level of car. More power, a little bit faster...The interesting thing is, the "next level" cars usually behave *better* than the starter cars under optimal conditions. But the skill is still needed for them because well, in racing, conditions aren't always optimal...

The Vees and Trainers teach maintenance throttle to a larger degree than the F309 does, but the F309 definitely requires it as well.

    Maintenance Throttle Explained

Work on this technique, particularly when you feel like the rear is stepping out on you at low to medium speed corner entries while braking. A small dab of throttle will rebalance the car mechanically (and aerodynamically) and the F309 responds to this.

(I myself struggled with this for a long time. I was always a brake OR throttle type driver. This meant that I needed extreme braking precision before the corner to get the most out of the car. Most often I would brake too much, earlier for fear that the back end would step out if I broke harder into the corner. It was when I started using a dab or small amount of throttle when I felt the cars were about to overrotate entry to mid corner, that I realized that this is what the car was teaching me. I am by no means an expert at it. But if you are interested in growing as a driver as I am, this skill will definitely help you, in the F309.)

As far as setups are concerned, generally, stiffening the front springs or ARB will help limit corner entry rotation, which many drivers think is a problem with the rear of the car because the rear is stepping out. That's not always the case.

Softening the rear rebound dampers allow for more rear traction and limit traction transfer to the front.

You could add more aero, but note what I mentioned above.

Still, the car is pretty unpredictable as of now and the front provides a lot more grip than the rear. It didn't do that before the big physics update and to me, it's maybe the most difficult car in the game to drive because front/rear feels so unbalanced. It's not about slip or driving techniques, it's just a very odd experience and feels like a setup issue, not a physics one.

I managed to copy a setup on the Guaporé time trial which fixed this issue completely (currently top of the leaderboard there, if @ramsay hasn't improved his time since yesterday). Might be worth looking into it.

I strongly support players customizing or experimenting with setups. In fact, it’s recommended, especially with aero cars.

Ill take a look. It was fine for me and I know others as well but if there is room to improve the setup im all for it.

In AMS2, the effects of aero imbalance are felt acutely. Too far rearward and the rear feels stodgy and the car is impossible to spin. Too far forward and it's very skittish in the way described above. Also the default setups for many aero cars aren't tuned in terms of the ride height, and the cars are squatting at high speeds, leading to understeer into snap oversteer as you slow down under braking.

If you want to just jump in and drive the aero cars you're gonna have a bad time. Previously a lot of them were configured to be quite safe with lots of downforce, but with the latest aero yaw changes even this doesn't always guarantee an easy to drive car. And if they go too far with it, you get complaints about F1 cars that are "too planted in the rear". So looking at TT setups is a reasonable starting point, maybe adding a few clicks of wing at both ends just to be safe.

Of course it would be so extra in a racing sim like ams2, but ac with csp can connect to the spotify api in the desktop spotify app, allowing your music album and song name to show itself in the in-car screens and radios.

Obvs i don't expect to to read about an option to listen to irl Brazilian radio stations in-game in the next monthly dev update.

Are we anticipating a monthly update in the next few days? I actually cannot recall any news on it although there probably will be somewhere.

Well, we are still expecting the gen1 f-usa cars that got delayed last time, surely they will release those in the coming days, and not delay them another month, that wouldn't be right towards the people that bought the seperate pack.

But other then that, as always there is a complete radiosilence from Reiza, that wont change anytime soon i reckon, if we dont like that we need to go elsewhere, but lets hope they release the part3 of racin usa dlc part 2 now, i have good hopes on that, if they dont a lot of people might get really upset with Reiza, and thats never a good thing if u ask me, although it would be understandable.
And yes, i know there is a lot of content in ams2 already, before anyone says that, but thats not the point, point is that people who paid for a specific dlc should get what they pay for, and not get a delay after delay.

I am really looking forward to the gen1 indycar, im sure they will be of great quality when released.

I don't use much movement because I don't want to get nauseous in VR (so I leave almost everything at zero) but I found out that I like longitudinal movement very much, which just shifts your body forward when braking. This is a very cool effect in VR which doesn't make me nauseous and gives me superb immersion! Only thing that is a bit annoying for me with this setting is that there is always an abrupt movement when shifting the gears up/down. Do you know if it is possible to still have this longitudinal movement for braking/accelerating but NOT when shifting the gears up/down? This would be great if we could seperate those two effects and configure them seperately...

And they (including me) will get what we paid for.
And, we all had the option of waiting for it's full release before paying as well, so there shouldn't be too much animosity for delays.
As highly intelligent sim racers, we know that unforeseen delays are more common than rare in software development.

We all know that, right? :)

Well, on the racin usa part 2 dlc store page there was no mention of the delay of the gen1 cars, they added that at a later stage, best thing they could do is release stuff when its complete, especially dlc packs, make it available when its completely done.
And a small delay of a month tops, is not the worst indeed, but a delay of more then a year without a proper explanation/reason is not so common, im sure you agree with me there.

    simple solution in the future.
Don't buy, as long as the community doesn't tell its complete.

well, you shouldn't have to first check with the "community" if something is complete or not, and probably a lot of people dont come to this forum at all.

once something is available to buy, it should either mention the state its in, or not be available at all.

when i go to a store to buy a table, and its shown with 3 table legs, and i ask where is the 4th, well thats coming in more then a year from now, i would not buy it, but if its shown with 4 table legs, i buy it, then get it delivered, and there are just 3 legs in the package, and they say well the 4th is coming a year from now, then i would feel a bit scammed probably.

not a native english speaker here, so i hope my point is clear and understandable

Having to wait over 3 months to get a completed DLC is pretty irritating (if not at least better than having to wait this long for it to even come out) but I think one of the primary things Reiza needs is a decent PR/social media guy or two, the dev blogs have been way out of schedule and the general communication with the playerbase has been pretty lacking in my opinion which probably fuels the flame of frustration

Exactly, i could not agree more with you on that, biggest thing is, you see more and more people getting annoyed to say the least with these things, but it doesn't seem to matter to them at all.
