Automobilista 2 V1.3.4.0 RELEASED!

I mostly meant this referring to PCars 3.

The original PCars (and PC2, to an extent) was oozing with passion - which reflected on many things that MADNESS Engine just did right (and still does to this day) - with the WMD stuff.

However, due to Bandai Namco's publishing partnership and Ian Bell's massive [ambition], it became too commercialized for its own good.

PCars 3 is... somewhat of a fun racer, but one so uninspired - with so many new and interesting concepts realized so poorly with all of those reused assets - that it became lazy and forgettable (but, enjoyable sometimes).

 

Sorry, but this is simply not true.
i have been with SMS all dev time of pc1 and pc2, these folks from slightly mad studio are highly passionated. Pc1 and pc2 show that in so many areas.
And right, bandai namco … well, they made many things possible for the good, but sadly also to the bad.

pc3 I am not Talking about.
money deals with codemasters and finally with EA sadly gives another taste of things, but that do not change the fact, that the sms folks are 100% Motorheads just like we all are here.

 

Shame it is just more of the same, would like to see something different like some GT2 cars. More of the same is uninspiring to me and just trying to milk more from a game that seems to have basically finished its development. There was a rumour at some stage of GT2 being added but I guess not.

I'm happy Reiza is instead hunting on different grounds and provide always different classes and periods.

 

I'm just happy here with the first official CART cars in a sim in 20 or so years and the first official '83 F1 cars...ever in a sim i think? (albeit understandably so, they're definetely interesting to drive to put it nicely), I don't really care if Reiza starts pumping out competing GT3 content

90s GT2 (to compliment the current GT1 in ams2), early 2000s ->2010s GT2 (precursor to GTE) or modern SRO GT2?

I honestly don't need to see any new content as there is already a great variety. I'd rather see fixes than new stuff.

 

We've been over this already. The 3D modellers don't take a vacation just because the coders need to change the code.

Same as F1 car designers don't stop working on the car just because the driver keeps crashing it. The accountants don't stop keeping record just because sales are not at business plan level. The sales people don't pause work because the factory is dirty. People are not interchangeable 1 to 1.

some peole will never learn that "developer" is a common term for all people working on a project.
Coders, project leaders, sound designers, graphic artists, 3D artists, QA, physics specialists etc.

JUST move your a.. and find this bugs !!!!!!!

Man, all you have to do is watching the "credits" inside the game and you'll see how many people are working on content only and maybe have no knowledge to parse any line of buggy code.
Do you really think Renato should fire them because you don't see the need for content?

What's really hilarious is trying to tell someone how to run their business, when you're not privy to the inner workings of it.

 

This is ridiculous. The cheerleading squad here are just too sensitive. All I actually said was that I am happy with the amount of content, and that I'd prefer what we have to get better polish and suddenly the pom poms come out talking about modellers and a bunch of total nonsense.
It wasn't even a negative comment but some of you are so shook and defensive you go on the attack with the slightest comment.
I never said "fire this guy and hire that guy" you guys got all that drama from ONE simple sentence.
The guy above me said it was turning into a wishlist and I was merely pointing out my wish was for more polish, not content and 3 of you had a temper tantrum, hence my LOL.

I agree with you.
Nobody is telling Reiza how to run their business, nor suggesting that 3D modellers take a vacation. And its also true that even when there are separate streams of activity that can run concurrently using different resources, that does not mean that it's impossible to weight focus towards improvements rather than new features. Anyone who thinks that, does not understand software development.
