Automobilista 2 V1.3.8.1 Oficially Released - Now Updated to V1.3.8.3

The GT4 are very nice to drive. The only thing I don't like is the Porsche Cayman GT4. He is not agile enough in the steering and rocks up when driving in snakes. Maybe the center of mass because of the MR concept?

 

I'm not sure if you're joking, but in real life oval racing this is a serious concern. Rain tires can't take the heavy loads put on them at an oval and thus oval races use slick tires only.

Deciding whether to stay out at the end with less than enough fuel to make the finish and bet that the race will be rain-shortened or to pit and bet that the race goes the full distance and you'll cycle back to the front is an interesting part of the strategy.

For that matter, if the track you're at isn't lit, darkness can cause the series to shorten the race even if the rain has passed.

I'm not sure that AMS2 will simulate all of that, but I guess you never know.

Have you tried Guapore, Santa Cruz do Sul and Cascavel with this car? Great fun.

 

This car is fantastic on every track I tried it: it's not too slow on fast tracks and very agile on more curvy tracks.
Right now I'm trying it on every short layout I can find. Just tried 20 mins races at the Suzuka and Goiana shorts and wow !

 

I'm pretty sure Reiza is already aware of this issue, but the AI needs some pit strategy overhaulage. I'll add my voice to the clamouring horde.

2-hour race on the Nords 24h layout:


This did not feel like a deserved win. I was P9 coming into the last corners on the first lap, but went up to P3 by turn 1 of lap 2 because a bunch of them pitted after the first lap. The track was moist without rain at the start but I didn't see any wet tyres in the front rows in the replay, so I have no idea why they would pit at that point. There was no serious contact on that lap either that I saw.

I'm still happy for finishing a two-hour Nords race without a single spin or serious wall contact though. Also, 10X time progression makes for some great views and ambience.

 

Its there a chance we have Goodwood Hillclimb on AMS2? Just thinking about how cool will be with all this classic cars!

 

Honestly I would love to have the Goodwood track with a historic version. The only issue is likely the pit lane, it's short and narrow as heck.

I assume Team Air Canada got a penalty for dangerous driving as the picture clearly shows them starting from the back of the grid.
