I've just published an article on Racedepartment about the update and mentioned that if folks who hav'nt tried the sim in a while should definately give it a go after this update as its gunna be a game changer! Also mentioned that it co-insides with the steam sale so hopefully might boost sales for folks who were on the fence about buying it. Could really do with an updated demo! Looking very forward to it.

Should we delete any config files with this update?

I never understood why Jimmy B got so much hate. It is very rare I will watch him or any sim youtuber but he never came across as a hater of really anything of the few vids I saw.
He gets labelled a hater for saying the cars don't feel right, yet since then there have been major overhauls of the physics that has taken over 2 years where it is documented that the differential was actually wrong, ABS not performing as it should, a few major issues with the tires yet all along the staunch defenders denied these faults existed. His feedback absolutely had substance and he had a platform he used to communicate his experience. He was the "hero" when he was one of the few that carried the flag for AMS1 but now he is the villain for saying the physics felt off (that he wasn't wrong about to boot). Tough crowd.

if i recall he was mocking it, rather than actual constructive criticism. The Devs asked him to go easy and he got in a strop and vowed to never play it again

God not this discussion again. He reviewed AMS2 after being away for over a week, was in a hurry to produce content, did no preparation, tried 1 single car which unfortunately was also one of those in a worse state at the time, did a 2nd review later without prep again and later got in an argument with Renato (who told him in gentle ways that the video was not fair to the product - and it showed), got butthurt and decided to never touch AMS2 again.

Reiza doesn't need him and he doesn't need Reiza. Period. Time to move on.

I believe it was the Cadillac DPi that finally broke his relationship with Reiza. He made a video criticizing it, and apparently a dev sent a very angry message. Jimmy just refused to even touch AMS2 afterwards, though he did praise it in his "best of 2021" video. The game definitely had issues at the time (still does with some cars... I'm looking at you Sigma P1 o_O), but it's a shame the whole situation ended the way it did.

Let's hope it goes live before Q3 so I can begin the download before it starts

Don't think it's worth to re-open again the matter. The heat JB took wasn't for the opinions he had.
It was because he rushed a video without preparing it seriously, without setting his hardware and without deleting his folder, ignoring what the changes applied to that update were etc.
It was clearly something rushed out with a pre-made conclusion (although we all know that there were criticism that AMS2 fully deserved) and a clickbaiting title and when users and even developers made him notice that from someone of his level a more thoroughly prepared and articulated feedback would be in order he took personal offense.
As much as some of the points he was raising were right also some of the points the developers and the users brought up about how poorly prepared was his video were right but "high-ego" streamers don't seem to take it well.

I took the video as him kind of being in disbelief that a company that made a game as epic as AMS1 would have a game that behaved as poorly AMS2 did well into full release. I guess it depends on your level of sensitivity. I'm not defending him, I'm just saying certain people acted like his name was Austin :D.

Just to correct you. Adjustable mirrors were already in. What was added was adjustable mirrors in pancake mode. ;)

There were some fair critiques, but he put very little time into the game, unless you consider a handful of laps a fair assessment, or car setups, and just expected to be able to jump in and play to record a video. He wasn't the only content creator at the time with that attitude, which creates the odd dichotomy of wanting a simulation game, without having to put the time into learn how to drive or set up cars.

How many professional racing teams roll their car out of the truck and the car just "works" at the track, regardless of track and ambient conditions?

There were problems with the game, but he and other content creators did very little to fully articulate any of the issues they encountered, and at the time it was a just an AMS2 bashing fad which was very frustrating as it misrepresented the game massively. That video alone has more views than AMS2 has ever had players, and how many people people were deterred from playing when he only ever gave the game a cursory glance?

Whenever you've got a small studio, it's very frustrating when, like I said before, the fad at the time was the bash on AMS2, when other sims are hardly perfect and had similar or more egregious faults.
