Definately, or have the option of dissabling it in an online server would be better, then everybodys happy! Another massive thing would be to have the option to not let cars escape to pit unless they are totally stationary! Really detest seeing cars infront of me just suddenly dissappear cause someone got upset and rage quit, by which point i've already changed the position of my car, for a car that then is gone

 

Pfft, grow some chest hair and take a Group 5 car to Kicevo As an added bonus, you don't need to change gears much.

 

agreed , “reset car” switched off by default for online servers , incredible how it’s actually there at all it’s basically a cheat button in a competitive online multiplayer environment -maybe this is one of the reasons there’s a lack of them

 

In what situations is it a "cheat"? AFAIK you can only reset if your car is stationary and there are no other cars nearby.

 

Its an assist for new sim racers. When you let someone else in your sim rig and they crash, its useful to reset instead of doing a whole mahaveer-style 12-point turn maneuver

 

It can also be handy for things like the Super Kart which can get fully stuck in gravel.

I did there a "special stage" with an online league that used to race using the Lotus Exos... that was. . . peculiar lol

Just happend to me ( F1 V12, imola). Two cars in front of me the Guy tried to brake reeeeaaally late on turn 7 and finished as far as you can go There... And he suddently reappears in front of me like parked .. i was thinking the trajectory was clear and it would take him at least 5-7 sec to come back on track from the Gravel... tried to avoid him but suddently he starts and hit my rear.

This is what Someone Says cheating I guess... You saved a lot of Time.. but the most annoying is the Risk of crash that this feature come with for others drivers... And in ranked race this is one more irritant.

 

Ideally most of the arcade settings would be gone, but the AMS2 player base has been showing both here in the forum and in MP that they pretty much prefer arcade over simulation, so...

Personally I find it frustrating, but let it be whatever the majority wants. However it is quite sad when you think about how much Reiza has worked on tyre physics, driveline physics, AMDM and so on, just to find out only a minority of its users are actually enabling them.

 

At least with options you can Filter the audience you expect in your sessions ( making it more or less simulation) and Everyone can be happy.

To disable reset car, enable full damage , no abs/TC (where applicable

there’s also a large hardcore simulation crowd that have less choice of titles especially a full sim with a shiny new graphics engine that AMS2 has ,
Add a good online multiplayer experience & it’s a long term winner for sure
Iracing would suddenly have new competition

Majority don't need to choose. Just let AMS2 have all the options and each one play as it fits.

Combat flight sim, overall is a genre way more advanced than racing sim. Basically all sim in the market give the players options to go from arcadish up to full sim and, when at 100% realism, these sims ain't no less real because of giving options. BTW, most of the hardcore flight sims give players options that could be, in other genres, confused with pure cheating, as invincibility, no collisions, infinite ammo and things like these. Even professional sims use to give options as those.

People in sim racing just need to quit on this fetish of telling people how to enjoy their games and let developers give the options to those that want.

 

Please read, I see only one observation and a personal opinion. no orders given. You start giving orders telling people to quit something

 

Who can complain about having a lot of options leaving the player the possibility to enjoy the game as he wishes? What elitism to think that AMS 2 can only be enjoyed in one way!!!
The options allow you to expand the player base, which allows you to buy licenses, develop the game...I don't see how the options are bad. If you are not satisfied, disable/enable the option.
