This is how I feel on the topic... We all now know how that NASCAR game turned out and they've done zilch with the other licences in terms of actual stand alone products... Indycar would of paid attention to what happened with their US counterpart...

This is one of the reasons I don't watch ovals a lot and it's also why I got turned off of F1 for many years... The DRS just made it a non contest... Motorsport is as much about the cars and tracks as it is the battles...

That’s why Monaco shouldn’t be on the F1 calendar. COME AT ME!

They should give it to Formula E anyway... Far better all round racing there... And they have epic battles at Monaco...

Monaco is actually one of the few F1 races I watch every year along with Spa and Monza...

So, ams2 has a plethora of “fake cars” in its “game” and they were releasing it until INDYCAR contacted them. Or was the contact to say stop or in legal word C&D

They were going to release their version of an Indycar, but they contacted Reiza and then Reiza waited to release it until they have a licensing deal or not. We are waiting for the conclusion of the negotiations

Monaco belongs to F1 not only for its history, but also for its qualifying.

But yeah, the race is awful, cause there isn't really one. These modern F1 cars are as long as limousines... The 90's F1 cars are the best imho

I think the size of the FE Gen 3 cars is perfect, although its shape is weird af.

As someone who has watched all of the season reviews from 1970-1980 I can assure you the overtaking problem at Monoco is NOT a new one. Every time one of those documentaries went to Monoco the narrator always mentioned that overtakes were incredibly rare.

I don't believe this tbh. I think they were politely told by Indy to not release a likeness under pressure from MSG whom we know are making a game. I.e. MSG got Indy to shut it down, under the guise of "we might give you a license someday if you don't poison this relationship now". Small studio like Reiza won't want to burn bridges.

    That's my conspiracy theory anyway.

I guess we'll find out soon enough, but honestly phuk them. Clearly Indycar is buring every bridge they come too anyway, so... ‍

(If your theory is the case)

To me it's like MSG was few millions in minus so Indycar tried to find some future. And then MSG got some next money and bought everything. The end will be probably very bad but technically license is currently bought and Reiza can't use anything. That's what I see from few data here. Partnership with Reiza looks very good if you check their game, it's rather masterpiece for now and plans are huge. So they can attract some companies, I guess.

Then why would Renato heavily insinuate that they're looking for an official licence? Why didn't he just say "they said we couldn't use it"

To not make Indy seem like jerks, which you wouldn't want if you are trying to cultivate a longer term relationship.

I am pulling this conspiracy out of my a55 btw. I do think it's the most likely answer though.

You know... I don't even think Indycar would be in the legal right anyways becauee Reiza wouldn't be using their branding or their official manufactures. It's like how RSS and VRC doesn't get sued by F1 despite being paid mods.

The great GPLaps just posted a video about it with AMS2 running in the background. Comments are interesting as well.

I had this thought too so either Reiza was or thought they were close to a deal to get the official license or MSG threatened legal action because the car was "too close" to likeness? It is hard to say for sure what has or is happening.

The option may still be there for 2024-25. A bit disappointing given we just got a brand new version of Indy, but maybe Reiza are waiting till the MSG situation blows over. If MSG actually has it, there's a high chance they utterly mess it up.
