I'm one of the people that moan about some cars sounding quite synthetic, but these are amazing. Very raw and visceral.

You are 100% correct, but you can't count on these things being out. Like a long road trip with kids, we'll get there when we get there.

The video OP annoys me, always on about how simracing sucks and other lowest-common-donominator bull crap. Man might have valid points sometimes but there are certainly better content creators making those same points. I mean for crying out loud, even that friend of mine who actually races likes him about as much as I do.

 

when you see how games from 10 or so years ago or even more are more polished and have better gameplay than racing games nowadays you can understand why he's so negative about todays games

 

He has also complained about older games

 

The thing is that games from decade ago were a lot simpler thus less prone to have issues. Now there's so many moving parts and were closer to realism that ever, both visually and simulation-wise, so of course there will be more issues. And developers cannot work on titles for years as it's not financially feasible. It's the reality and "old times" are very unlikely to come back... Unless we go back to the basics which is not going to happen.

 

I understand, and a decent amount of the reason I dislike him has to do with things that seen completely unrelated to simracing but his personality and what he chooses to post. Because of those things it makes it very hard for me to believe he goes into it with good faith, and when you're making content critical of things not having that element of good faith makes your whole point mute.

Also should be noted that youtuber Empty Box made a video about the oval racing in AMS 2 a few hours ago... imho he deserves your view way more than Austin

Chuckled a bit at the "Legendes" typo

 

The internet is partly to blame. Now games can be patched or totally remade and downloaded at no material cost to the publisher. Before if there was a serious flaw, they´d have to send out CDs or disks. That´s why older games also had longer lead times to release as the testing was internal, whereas now it´s the early buyers who are the beta testers.

Had to hurry and get that video out before the update lol. Since he's involved in GTR Revival it's going to be harder to see his videos as anything more than "look at how bad sims are today, ours will be the best yet!"

He brings up good points but I feel he'll be biased against all sims that aren't GTR Revival going forward.
