Bug Reports - Automobilista 2 (Read the Opening Post)

For bug starting at 8:10 see my report for reproducing it.

 

Driver name length limit too short. I have a longer lastname... 12 characters. My firstname is 4 characters. When I do a championship race, the last character of my lastname is cut off of the standings... and I believe other areas where you see all driver names.

The funny thing is that in Time Trials, my full name shows in the leaderboards. So the limitation appears to just be with offline races.

 

This is well known and also exists in other games like RF 1 or AMS 1. When coming back from replays, camera stays on car you watched. So, you gotta switch back to your car in replay menu before resuming the race.
Not a big thing to me (but of course for players who do not know it).
But the author of the video experienced some problems I also saw when racing at IMS. With damage set to full, the AI causes huge carnage and only a few cars finish the race.

A bug reported in the video I never experienced is that the tyres won't get changed. But I always set a strategy before race and then also check it again in the ICM on track before going to pits.

 

Ya, but did you see he did try to go back to replay mode and choose his car but it didn't work .?? So do you only have 1 chance? I don't think that's how it works but never the less we all know these are very complex pieces of software with miles and miles of code & Reiza seems to have some pretty good people working on things so let's just see how this game looks as time evolves here ..

 

Though it only happens if you go into photo mode while in replay mode.
If it is that well known, then it should definitely fixed as it is easy to 100% reproduce it (unlike some other bugs), though it does not imply it is easy to fix.
Unfortunately, many reported bugs/issues in this topic will probably be never addressed, likely due to the lack of manpower and priorities and issue reports piling up with no end in sight.

Report: CTD / Bugsplat when loading a session with Nissan group C low down force car
Steps to reproduce: If you choose the Nissan Group C car and a track that will select the low downforce setup option then it crashes when you start the session. The car works on tracks with normal setup (e.g. Brands Hatch) and with other group C cars in low downforce.
Have verified the Steam files after the update.

Report: No driver models on the Formula Classic Gen 1 cars
Steps to reproduce: Start a session with the FCG1 cars. The player driver model is missing and the AI driver models are missing too.

Issue found: this happens if you have custom livery packs installed on this class. Remove them. Thanks Crimson for the reply. I leave this post here in case other people run into the issue, I installed that pack long time ago, even forgot it was a custom pack.

Report: Backseat cam obstructed by passenger seat and model artifacts
Steps to reproduce: use the car anywhere.

Additionaly: the tire pressure for the C8 Z06 is highly dubious!!!
Manufacturer states 30-35psi, but default pressure in AMS2 is 22 psi... that would be hazardous low for street tires.

Report: Vehicle adjustment messages visible when HUD is disabled.
In update 1.4.3.0 there was an update to make vehicle adjustment messages visible in all HUD modes (seat adjustment/Brake bias setting etc). However this included when the HUD is disabled, which defeats the point of disabling the HUD if messages still pop up, and is immersion breaking in VR.
Steps to reproduce: Start driving with the HUD disabled and change brake bias.

Steps to reproduce: Start a session run until there’s a crash, come back around and tires parts stay on track, cars can hit the debris and cause damage

 

No drivers with Classic Gen 1, 2 and 4 when using custom liveries.
